Spooky .... in a nice way :D

It is  but I feel kinda comforted, just in general :)

ETA: Totally off topic () but has anyone had experience of seeing a medium?

  • Jo1972 - I've never been to see a medium myself but i know someone that has. I'm very sceptical over things like this so to avoid any controvesy i'll say perhaps that particular medium wasn't very good. My friend was told things such as their late gran was watching over them (Both gran's still alive). Also, they should wear the necklace their gran gave them for their 18th birthday to bring luck (There was no such necklace).

No, but had tarrot read once. So spot on it was unreal! And I was completely aware of not giving anything away, and she was so specific it was scary.

Also when FIL died, he hadn't left a will. Mrs BHB asked for a sign of if we were doing the right thing about cremating him. The pub he used to frequent burned down that day . Then as we were thinking about the service and wondering what music he would have liked (he used to do a disco and his signature tune was Telstar, the Tornados). A photo of The Tornados performing Telstar were in the paper the next day. Then We followed a driving school car , company name Telstar ..... at the exact time that he died.

We talked about flowers and the only ones he liked were sunflowers. So we arranged sunflowers instead of normal flowers, and a wreath in the shape of a tractor as he was into vintage tractors. A couple of days later when we were driving we saw a row of vintage tractors on display at the side of the road .....each with a large sunflower in front or a bunch on the seat :confused: Not something you see every day... no idea what they were doing there.

Just to round things off, he also collected watches. When we came to sort his stuff out ..... they all said the same time ..... the time that he died in hospital :eek:

Work that lot out ? Coincidence ???

Jo - I've not had any good experiences with mediums myself - they were all very disappointing. Nothing was said to convince me they had any messages or abilities about me and my life. I was asked lots of leading questions for info, that sort of thing.

I can't make up my mind about whether there are any genuinely psychic people or not, to be honest. my friend goes every month and she absolutely SWEARS by her psychic.

I do believe in ghosts and spirits. In fact on several occasions, my OH and I have fleetingly seen a "ghost cat" in our house! Our own cats see it more than us, but animals are more in tune with ghosts IMHO. Our cats go all wierd and their eyes move around the room, but there isn't anything we can see, so we always say "ghost cat's here again".

It's a silver tabby and we've seen it curled up on the couch and walking in the lounge too (and it must float round the walls and ceiling too, as our cats follow it up and round with their eyes when it's about!).

And I've also been whispered to in my ear by "something" during my voluntary work shift, (which is at a Hospice for the terminally ill). I almost pooed myself I was so shocked! There was no-one else around and I was in the pantry on my own making breakfast for one of the patients and I not only heard something but I physically felt the whisper in my ear.

Uurghgh eck, I'm off again - far too long post! Oops :D

  • BHB / Caz - Both very interesting posts. I personally have never seen anything to make me believe in ghosts / spiritual things but am very intrigued by it all. I guess until i see something i'll always be sceptical.

  • Morning all

Updated all the scores so far and will publish list around about 8pm tonight. Might be earlier/later as I am on nights and may be asleep before I graft into the witching hours ;).

Not had any experiances with mediums as every time I look its a large :D

Glad to hear you are not hearing the bells ATM jo. Nice to know your Dad is looking out for you :T.

Just had a call from the garage and cost of new rad fitted is £168.00. Not too bad as it is a Volvo but wont know if any other damage has been done ie Head Gasket until new rad is fitted. Should get that done tomorrow

You are all doing well this month and the days are rattling up

    Take care

  • Good morning everyone, I hope everyone is ok on this lovely sunny morning. The wine bells were clamouring a bit last night but I did manage to resist, so pls YM put me down for 9 AFD

What I have been trying to do is to break the habitual cycle and if its any help to anyone, what has helped so far is
    1) find an alternative drink - I have settled on Indian tonic water with lime
    2) Keep busy by exercise or a hobby - I run and knit
    3) Find a good DVD boxset of your favourite TV programmes or films to immese yourself in. I've been watching Lost.

Take care everyone and have a decent day.

I got talked into it once, years ago by someone who swore by it (I used to wonder why she had to go so frequently if they were any good?!).

I went along prepared to mock, I was a total cynic & disbeliever, & went out of my way not to be nasty but to be awkward; I wasn't giving anything away! I could've had the session recorded but I'd forgotten to take a tape.

Right at the start she asked me why I wasn't wearing my wedding ring. I was divorced but didn't tell her that (of course ) I just said "why would I, I'm not married". She looked confused & replied, "but you're with your husband"......and .....we'd got back together & were living together, & planning on getting remarried. That was spooky. There were other things that were uncannily accurate as well; in fact she didn't ask me anything, it was all statements of fact.

I so wish I'd remembered to take a tape; I can't remember the telling-the-future bits!! Some vague memory of finding happiness in my 50s...hooray!! I was in my early 30s at the time!!

Anyway sorry for the ramble, but I came away a convert. I don't know if I'll ever go to another one though.
