What are you doing with the other half?

:D DS2 is back normally and DD3 starts primary tomorrow but only for an hour and a half a day for the first week.....which means lots of walking back and forth and trying to explain why she cant go at the same time as her brother for 2 weeks.....Im tired just thinking about it
Week 2 they up it to 3 hours a day.....seems pretty ridiculous to me!!
    xx
  • Good luck anyone back at work tomorrow & to anyone with kids going back too.
    Hi to Everyone:j:j

BHB....thankfully your DS is OK....he will have gained the valuable lesson that cars are dangerous ...I know it was`nt his fault but nevertheless being involved in any accident really changes your view of safe driving. My car was written off by a drunk driver when I was 21...being cut out of a vehicle & realising what could have happened really does stays with you for the rest of your life.

Another AFD for me tonight YM....thats 6 :j:j

Phew! Glad there aren't half-children running around! :D

But yes, it does seem pretty ridiculous - good luck with it :)

Oh my goodness, where to start
Budgie~my dear budgie. Your thought provoking posts do my head in!!! :o In a good way. But tonight isn't the night for such questions, "Are you happy?" My answer....not sure

Off to bed. Work tomorrow. Boo Hoo!

Sorry mate I didn't mean to do your head in  I am just in one of my reflective Budgie moods, Luckily they don't happen often

  • Hope those of you still up are having a good evening. I am. :D

Just havin a bit of a relaxing surf on tinternet and smiling at my OH bashing the living daylights out of virtual friends and relatives on the Wii. She gets into it so much, I think she's forgotten I'm in the room! :rotfl: :rotfl:

No bells for me today, which is SUPER, I hope I have plenty more days like this! Had a lovely day actually. Not doing a lot, just pottering round the house, cleaning, washing, doing a bit of shopping (no alcohol bought) and then my OH and I have spent all afternoon cooking, which has been really fun.

I'm with Fay on the cookery side of things - I bl*ody love it! OH has done some spectacular baking and we've also made HM steak and kidney puddings. They turned out brilliantly, so we are well chuffed with ourselves! :p;) And I've done all the washing up and made our lunches for tomorrow and sorted out dinner for tomorrow before my AA meeting too. It feels really good to be organised - I tend to get anxious when it's rather chaotic around the house (which is a lot of the time!).

It's my last week at work this week. YIIPPPEEEE! I will have finally worked my 3 months notice (plus another 3 days) and my last day is Friday. It's felt like a lifetime, I can't wait, I'm very excited about leaving. Anyway, difficult day on Friday alcohol-wise, as you might expect. More than a couple of drinks will be bought for me, so I'm still thinking about how to deal with it.

Any suggestions from you all would be greatly received, please.

    Hugs and love

    Hello,

I am back from BF's and have spent evening catching up on thread while [STRIKE]watching[/STRIKE] listening X-factor on catch up. I managed to finish page 187 so little bit more to catch up tomorrow.

Marylin (sp?), please please what was your secret when losing weight? I have on and off tried to get rid off one and a half stone but obviously I am not putting my mind to it as it is not shifting.

I am glad to say that I have now 6 AFs under my belt for this month. I have now only 4 evenings to cope with until I am heading back to see BF which will quarantee 3 AF days. But I really need to get all my spreadsheets up to date and I can't do it if under influence so please give me a kick up the bum if I haven't reported any progress in my spreadsheet busting.

    Night night,

    Marru

Well I wont be AF today. Went to Pizza Hut on a whim and I had a bottle of Magners.

That isn't too much YM. Only one drink.
Are any of us truly happy? I mean truly, deeply happy? Or do we all search for some inner happiness that will forever elude us? We bargain with ourselves things will be better when ? ? ? ? ? Then that day comes and we still feel that something is missing?

I am not happy. I think it is because of my cra**y childhood and the fact I suffer from depression. I feel happy sometimes and I try to cherish those times though.

  • Hello

Haven't caught up on here but just wanted to post again with an update. I'm still on 0 so far this month, YM. Tomorrow will be my first AFD in a few weeks. I haven't been keeping to a moderate level. I have reasons/excuses but won't bother trying to defend them here as that wouldn't be honest. I just haven't been trying to put in any AFDs. Didn't want to enough over the last few weeks as I've been wallowing a bit in self pity about stuff going on in life.

So it's time to take myself in hand. I have chosen a target of 12 for myself this month. I really want Monday to Wednesday to be booze free this week to start me off again on the wagon. If I can have some AFDs again I know my sleep patterns will improve and I still need to lose some weight. This year has been up a bit down a bit at ww meetings with the same pound or three coming and going. I'd like to step it up a bit over the next 3 months and actually keep them off for good instead.
Saw this article about alcohol and sleep recently and found it interesting.

I particularly need reminding of the last paragraph so thought I'd share it here with you.
"If you find yourself drinking above the recommended daily limits most days of the week, your body may be constantly trying to catch up and then it's likely you'll never feel fully alert or equipped to deal with the stresses and strains of daily life."
I want to feel fully alert and equipped to deal with the stresses and strains of daily life. Not sure how likely that is with such a bad night's sleep but if I don't drink tomorrow then that is a step in the right direction for a good night tomorrow.
