Must get on, determined to get an early night. DD2 has stabilised over the past few hours, I hope it is a 24 hour bug that she has got rid of tomorrow.

Have a lovely evening everybody, and successful week. xxx

Will keep my fingers crossed, PIR :)

  • Are any of us truly happy? I mean truly, deeply happy? Or do we all search for some inner happiness that will forever elude us? We bargain with ourselves things will be better when ? ? ? ? ? Then that day comes and we still feel that something is missing?

I know alot of people think that they will be happy when they are not in debt, mortgage free, have a baby, get that dream job all sorts of things. But will we always feel that in our life something is missing?

I don't know if it is me just being in a deep and reflective mood  I would welcome your comments on how happy you feel in your lives? Do any of you feel totally happy have inner peace and embrace each day as if its the best thing ever?

    Hi Budge :hello:

I am happy and content. Not always, but most of the time, yes.
On the surface my life appears full of pain and anguish, but I choose to be happy, and thus do things that make happy. I do gratitude lists, I exercise, I ring and try and help other alcoholics, and all these things make me happy.

I had to put down drink (as alcohol makes me miserable) too, and make amends for my past behaviours and actions (some of which involved drink) and now I can be happy.
I may not walk around with a massive smile on my face all day, but I certainly am happy, and while it was fleeting and like elation, it is now a deeper contentedness that everything is just the way it is meant to be.

I have to really like or even love myself to be truly happy - and people who love themselves don't drink the way I used to, which is alcohol abuse.
I don't volunteer to be the victim any more, and that helps greatly.

Pricey well done you, this week is going to be your week, I just have a feeling ;)

But something has just hit me and it is our Dear Lurky's avvie. (I am now going to post a poem I wrote along time ago, but in it I am a white stallion).

I hope it makes some sense :confused: From time to time I get in these reflective moods?

    Its called:
    THE SEA

I dream of living by the sea
Of dancing on sand and being free
A wild horse with a long flowing mane
As the wind blows gently, it whispers my name

And as I run in the Sea
    The waves dance round
    Washing over me
They heal the sorrow of my past
As I stay here and live my dream at last ...............
    Thats for you mate ..................

I hope some of you can make sense of it

Edit GC hugs matey and lots of love to you, really you are a special guy :A (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Extra 12 units for me please YM .

Funny old day ..... Went to a car boot sale for a nosey this morning.

Came home and 'winterised' the swimming pool (brrrrrr).

Had a call from DS1 to say he had been 'air ambulanced' to hospital after a car pulled out in front of him at a junction. Luckily he is OK and home after some tests, but apparently has to expect major whiplash symptoms tommorrow. He has cuts and bruises tohis chest and legs and some sore ribs but luckily nothing major. His girlfriend is now pampering to his every need ;):rotfl:..... Don't you just think he's doing it just for that :rotfl::rotfl:.
Seriously though -bit of a shock to the system, mine, let alone his . He was very very shaken up.

Hopefully something good will come out of it .... him realising that a car is to get you from A-B, and it can be done on a budget and doesn't 'have' to be a flash car like his mates ... and you can still get there at 50 not 70mph .Luckily the police attended and said it wa sthe other persons fault.

Any way - haven't had a chance to read back. Hope every one is OK.

Have just been up the barn for a 'chill' with Mrs BHB. It is so relaxing watching chickens, ducks, goats , and even guinea pigs going about there business ready for the 'night shift'.:D Can't explain it really but very 'grounding'. Does that make sense ?

    Catch ya tomoz

    Andy

I think that's beautiful - it's made me want to cry but in a good way, if you see what I mean? :o

Andy hugs to you and Mrs Bhb and of course your Ds, I can't imagine how worried you have all been. I am thinking of you all and I really hope that you have some good news to post soon.

The Bhb family have certainly had a rough time of late.

I'm still only on 2 days this month. I seem to manage a day then decide the next day that it's ok to get a bottle.

But it's only wine that i'm bothered about. I have a cupboard with various spirits in (leftover from Christmas/parties etc) & I can take or leave them - generally leave them as I haven't touched anything in there for all of 2009. But the wine, I love

That being said, I have drunk a lot less since posting on here (possibly up to halving my units per unit) & that's saving me money & making me feel better too.

Not sure what this ramble is about, just wanted to say it all :o
