I was the same whenI was on the 'straight and narrow' in May/June - early June I felt phsyically better - but it was abit of a shock to the system
Although the first time I drank I woke up feeling the way I 'use' to think was normal everyday - so overall I guess I felt a bit better:rolleyes:

Hi all, hope you're having a good Sunday
Jo and YM - the lethargy and generally feeling listless and horrid is normal, apparently, when you stop drinking and continue with a run of AFD. When I read back through my earlier posts in August, when I stopped like you have, I felt terrible. Slept massively but didn't feel energised afterwards, got headaches and was much more emotional than usual.
It passed after 7 - 10 days I recall, although I still don't have a huge amount of energy in the mornings, despite generally sleeping very well on the whole.
As I've said before, keep hydrated, ensure you eat balanced foods, lots of fruit and veg and slow release carbs (like oats, wholemeal bread, etc) to keep you going.
It will get better and your body will ultimately thank you for being AF! Well done to you both for doing so brilliantly up to now!! :T
It will be another AFD for me today too.
Hugs

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: classic !!!
I don`t feel much better either....in fact I feel shocking in the mornings still but I guess its all adjustment to cutting out the `drug`...which is what alcohol is.
Any detox from any substance will have a withdrawal effect...nagging headache is normal but its not as bad as a hangover headache!! 20 days is a fantastic achievement....you are an inspiration YM !! ...just think how much money you have saved too !:T:T

Well I wont be AF today. Went to Pizza Hut on a whim and I had a bottle of Magners.
Dont feel too bad about it but better to be honest.
I have allowed for drink days so must not beat myself up about it. I must admit after the one I did not feel like going out and drinking another 10 so hopefully an improvement has happenend there.0 -
