  • Tears flowing again. Like budgie I am a bit out of sorts at the moment.

Hello all - hugs 40sm xx
Sorry for the quietness from me - only got online breifly today - :A Budgie :A you are awesome and I think your honesty is outstanding. Thank you so much. I am glad your father and you have found peace - how brave of you to share so wonderfully with us.

OH was lovely and I am still very much like many on here out of sorts at the moment. Jo my dear are the stars or planets doing something funny at the moment

I don't do well with the children away - but normally I would hide in a bottle of wine - now I am thoughtful, reflective and often sharing with you all - hugs to you all.

RA thank you so much for posting - you made me think hard and wanted to send you a huge hug from me and my family

Away to catch up and find out what you have all been upto.

AF tonight but not yesterday night when I had wine but it made me too sad and reflective so I stopped after a couple of glasses.

Waves to you all - looking forward to a joint AFD tomorrow - from sunny Shetland.

    Off to catch up properly......:A

  • Hi everybody

I've made it through this evening with no wine, so still on target!!! What a wobble that was after visiting the outlaws ... No congratulations about the new job, just a few nosey questions, then telling me how fantastically the BILs are doing, and how wonderful their children are etc etc :eek:

Anyway, eaten some yummy choccie and now it's almost bed time :T

Tomorrow I'll wake up very pleased with my inner strength :T

    Night night everybody xx

I made it through the night as well - dropped all the alcohol off to my friends who came for dinner earlier today and glad I did because at 8pm I really fancied some wine.

    Hugs PIR :)

So I was VERY grumpy and had a massive urge to go and buy wine. Was so annoyed with myself, kept having an argument over and over with myself in my head. Thankfully, common sense won over. I was in a foul mood though so after PIglet went to bed I took myself off to a bath and then had an early night. Kids prob thought I was being wierd but thought that was better than snapping thier heads off. And infinitley better than getting plastered and having an argument with OH.

Amazing effort Miss P - fantastic.
A drink seems like a good idea at the time, but you did the best thing and got through it. You'll now wake up tomorrow with a big 'Phew' :T and so you should

    :hello:

Miss Piggy, can't believe that 'the big woman' thing. You and PIR definitely have my sympathy. My ex MIL (very, very ex) was a bit like that, couldn't wait to get her hands on DD (ex was only child) but wasn't interested in me at all. Lots of snidey comments from FIL about my education (running it down) and my family (considered snooty). Just goes to show that years and years on it still hurts. But 'that big woman' really takes it. I'm furious on your behalf:eek:

Budgie, like you (I'm sure) I have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years but only one bad one (It was in Dijon, I'll tell you about it sometime). Please don't let your horrible experience put you off booking somewhere to meet up with DS. Perhaps go for a chain like Travelodge then you very much get what you pay for. I'm convinced meeting up with DS will do you good. You need a fresh start. Perhaps planning your August target will do it for you.

Jo, I'm worried about you (again), please stick with it and go for help tomorrow. If you can have a plan to help you through the school holidays then you could use September (new start/new school year) as a fresh start to be AF/cut down.

Fay, glad you had a good w/end with OH. Are you happy cutting down or would you really prefer to be completely AF? You seem to be angry with yourself for any drink taken but by my (admittedly cr*p) standards you seem to drink very little overall. What would you prefer? Just read your 31 day target for August so have my answer!

Hope everyone else has enjoyed their weekend :A

I'm out to late lunch/dinner tomorrow but haven't talked to OH yet about who's driving/drinking. Me driving is a whole new phenomenon for him (before this thread, me drinking was taken as read) so could go either way.

Good luck to all on the challenge tomorrow!!:grouphug:
