    Morning all

Budgie, so lovely to see you posting again and sorry to hear you've been unwell (((()))) your post was very honest, thank you for sharing. It just goes to show, as RA also backs up, it's the drink that makes people what they are, take the drink away and they have no pent up frustrations, unjustified irritations or low self esteem. I'm so glad your dad has turned the corner and given your lovely DS a grandad that he can be proud of :)

    Not in my experience.
Sure we do things when we have had a drink that we wouldn't do sober, but take away the drink and one still has the resentments and low self-esteem, etc.
Initially, drink is a solution to these problems, however then it compounds the problems, and becomes a problem itself.
If it was just drink that was the issue, then why do we keep drinking even though we know that it isn't good for us? Why can't we stay stopped?
I think it is because we find life difficult, and life has its problems that we find hard to cope with, with or without drink.

In order for me to stop drinking, I needed firstly to put down the drink for a while so the fog lifted, and then change myself.
Fortunately for me (and I suspect RA too) just stopping drinking was not enough. Being sober is more than just 'not drinking'

    Afternoon everyone

Lots of heartfelt posts on here the last few days. I was sat reading yesterday in tears! ((hugs)) to all of you.

Budgie - hope you are feeling better today. PIR is right, you have been a fantastic Mum to your DS and he is so lucky to have you.

I had a bit of a mixed day yesterday. The morning was lovely. Me and Mum went to a farm shop / garden centre and had a lovely morning mooching around.
Then late in the afternoon me, OH and the kids went to the In-laws as it was FIL's birthday. I avoid going over very much as I always end up aggravated. Yesterday was no exception. FIL referred to me as "The Big Woman" several times and they were both generally annoying. Lots of little comments, trying to stuff Piglet with chocolate etc. MIL even moaned she wasn't having a holiday now until Christmas (she's been away twice so far this year already and knows we are deperately trying to save to go away NEXT year) They had picked OH's daughter up from her saturday job so we collected her while we were there. I dished up dinner when we got home, only to be told by stepdaughter that Granny had given her dinner at 4pm. Hadn't checked if I was cooking or anything.

So I was VERY grumpy and had a massive urge to go and buy wine. Was so annoyed with myself, kept having an argument over and over with myself in my head. Thankfully, common sense won over. I was in a foul mood though so after PIglet went to bed I took myself off to a bath and then had an early night. Kids prob thought I was being wierd but thought that was better than snapping thier heads off. And infinitley better than getting plastered and having an argument with OH.

Anyway, sorry for whinging. Had to get it off my chest. Will post again later and promise to be more cheerful!!

    Miss P
    xx

    Hi Guys, :hello:

I have to say that I am doing crap lately :o no idea why  and Maman you are right, I have not been in a good place since my ill fated holiday, I do feel very out of sorts. I think you are right I do need to see my Ds because when I do I am happy :j I am visiting him in August as it is our Silver wedding anniversary, been looking at hotel deals today, I need to make sure I book a good one though after my last experience.

I didn't really mean to say so much before, but I like to be honest and upfront. Though as Fay says we say more on here than to people we know.

I need to refocus and I don't know if I can at the moment, I have no real money issues apart from Mr BB not working and though I have had to cut back we are managing ok.

Luckily we had put our Ds through uni before Mr BB lost his job.

So I shan't be hanging about much tonight, but quickly before I go:

40sm you are truly a lovely person and no you haven't been yourself either of late. I meant to say last night that I am so sorry to hear about your mother and I hope she will be ok. It must be so hard for you being so far away, so I am sending you a big hug ((())) because you are in need of one. Take care Angel and I hope you feel better soon :A xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Darling Jo still no more af days to declare :o glad your evening was enjoyable, hope have more luck tomorrow speaking to the counsellors? Stay with it, you will get there in the end. Big hugs and lots of love. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Gc hugs and thankyou for your post. ((())) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Fedup glad to see you back, but where is Winebox  Dear Lurky if you are lurking hugs ((()))) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Miss P hugs to you too, you are a little softie and we all love you for it. ((())) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Fay hope you are ok? Thinking of you ((())) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

(((()))) hugs to everyone else, I send you all my love and hope that you are all ok? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Eselt hugs to you and lets hope that Felipe Massa will be ok? What a nightmare and only a week after poor Henry Surtees died as well. How very sad it all is. Hope you are ok sweetheart? ((())) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

God Bless everyone and take care
    Budgie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
