Good for you Miss P, you deserve to feel happy with yourself and your decisions, don't beat yourself up about stuff anymore. :)

I've just spent the most part of the morning reading 34 pages about snowman soup, I am now totally gutted that we are only in September and it's not time to make these yet for crimbo :(

For those of you into crimbo organisation 2009, what can I be getting on with now, making wise, which is not food orientated?

    Morning all!

. Careful where you lob it, think you can get arrested for killing ducks! Could have done with some of it a few years ago. When me and OH first moved in together, we got goldfish. When one died we had the wonderful idea of putting it in a box and giving it a burial in a lake. Only he floated......we looked very odd lobbing stones at this little box bobbing about in the middle of a lake!!!

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That cheered me up no end (sorry :o)

Making hampers is a good idea, each one containing bits and pieces that the person is interested in or likes, can be done in boxes, mugs glasses well anything really.

Managed to surf through the bells last night. Am slowly sorting through things in my head. I'm forever swinging backwards and forwards in my head on various issues, always thinking I'm failing. Always giving up on something (whether its drinking, dieting , whatever.) I always seem to be het up about how poorly Piglet is treated by OH's side of the family. His other two kids always get tons more attention etc than Piglet. So I've come to a few conclusions.

    1) I don't want to give up drinking completely. I WANT to be a sensible drinker. I enjoy a glass of wine and I'm lying if I pretend otherwise. So I'm going for moderation in future.

    2) I WANT to lose weight. Doing ok so far and I'm going to stick with it. I'm doing it for ME and no-one else and that feels good!

    3) I am going to concentrate on Piglet. I've told OH he has to sort his other two's birthdays and christmases out and I will sort Piglet. That may seem a bit cruel and selfish but, to be honest, Piglet always dips out in that respect. The other two are always worried about first (and with an extended family they get LOTS more than he does anyway). OH always leaves it to the last minute to get thier presents and my Dad always ends up bailing us out. No more. I'm ebaying like mad to raise money for Piglets birthday at the moment (four days before christmas - good timing THAT was Miss P!)

    4) I'm going to get a bit of a life - got in touch with my friend and we are going out once a month in future. Doesn't have to be expensive, her OH doesn't drink and offers to drive me home on the rare occasions we DO go out.

So, I'm feeling a bit more cheerful this morning. Sorry to ramble on but I have nowhere else to do it!! And I know you lot don't mind ;). Feel good for getting it all out.

    Miss P
    xx

It's horrid that piglet is ostracised by the in-laws, but you cannot change the in-laws and the only thing you can change is your reaction to their behaviour.
So by putting boundaries on things you are doing a good thing. Be careful that you are not drinking on this resentment. Resentments hurt us the most, and we LOVE to justify our drinking.

I am a little worried by your desire to drink in moderation, when in the past you have said (albeit when hungover, full of remorse/self-loathing) that you need to quit completely and not drink at all. You even mentioned Piglet and saying you would be devastated to lose him because of drinking and could not take the risk. It may seem a long time ago you said that, but I know for me my alcoholism progresses, regardless if I drink or not.
If you cannot drink in moderation then the only route is no alcohol, or as much as you want. The last option isn't really an option..
I know I cannot drink in moderation, however much I desire it. Just wanting it is not enough. I have the disease of alcoholism and that means I cannot drink at all. If I do, my past becomes my future, and it all ends in chaos, resentment, self-pity, selfishness, and pain for me and everyone else.
By not drinking you will save money and also could lose weight.

Please be careful - you are a lovely person

Inspired by BB basket she sent me with lots of little bits in - I am doing baskets for my family - not sure if they will work - but BB one was awesome and I loved it.

EG for my Brother who loves fishing, lions (long story), chocolate bikkies and coffee.

Fisherman hand pocket warmer thing (£1)
Lion silly keyring and fridge magnets (? pennies)
Stashing a few packs choccie bikkies (in date) when I remember
Got a silly fish teapot stand from charity shop (new 50p)
Fish mug (given from a chum)
    Fish socks (50p)
    Fresh coffee (ikea - £1 a bag)
Getting a print of a 'dog fish' he caught in a second hand frame (?)
Basket 50p from a pound shop place
Also got a few BOGOF'S on lynx shower gel and deoderant when on offer (cos he loves that too so one for him and one for OH or DS) much cheaper than the box sets and looks nice in his mini-hamper thingmy.

Will do up with nice cellophane or just wrap up :)

Stolen the idea entirely from BB - :D:D:D will look ace and costs about £5ish

Also chucking in choccie bars or those 3 for £1 sweeties everytime in Mr T which is adding to my stash at home for stockings etc for kiddietwinkles
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

    Fay, that sounds terrific!!

I'm going down the snowman soup route, we are organising a xmas bazaar (sp?) at the school, I'm wondering if I could do a load to sell? Also loving the pint glasses with mens black socks at the bottom and a white face cloth at top to look like a pint of guinness, I reckon if I can get the hang of making some of this stuff over the next month or so we could get quite a profit?
