    Evening everyone

Can get on here in peace as OH and Piglet are at Mr T's. Don't know who I feel more sorry for. OH or Piglet! They are both nightmares in shops!!:rotfl:

Fay - don't worry about the brain dump. Thats the good thing about this thread. We all do it and then all the others completely understand!:D

FH - Don't you worry either about your post. Its good to say what you mean. And GC doesn't take it personally I'm sure!:D

Budgie - you are very quiet. Hpe you are ok?

T2GU - hope we are all getting virtual birthday cake!

BHB Poor Mrs BHB. We had the same situation when my brothers Gran died. Relatives who hadn't visited them in the last 10 years suddenly appeared. Very frustrating but is the nature of some people I suppose. Hope Mrs BHB is coping ok.

Well I had a VERY busy day. I houseclean for my brother and SIL on Friday mornings. Tomorrow she has a whole boatload of relatives descending for her Mum and Dads anniversary and she is VERY stressed. She works full time in a high power type jobby ( I don't know what one of thems like :rotfl:) and the house was a tip. So I was more housekeeper than cleaner today. Worked my little socks off. The house is now sparkly clean and tidy (apart from a damp patch on the sofa that smells suspiciously of febreze....PIGLET!!...am hoping she won't notice or it may dry by the time she gets home!:D). I get on really well with my SIL and its been tough for her lately with one thing or another so am hoping this cheers her up a bit. She was thinking I would clean and then she would have to come home tonight and tidy, do washing and ironing etc. Now she doesn't. Look at me with my halo!:A Mind you, after going to work for three hours as well I'm now cream crackered!!

Anyway, best get on and pretend to have done something productive by the time OH and Piglet return. Catch up with you all later.

    Miss P
    xx

Disappear for a day or two ......and ........ :D

    Afternoon all :hello:

Not AF yesterday or today I'm afraid. BUt will soon jump on again.

I helped clear out FIL's shed yesterday. Everyone called him Gadget Man. Anything mechanical, electrical or electronic, he probably had it. Well he probably had 4 different versions of it !!! 3 transit loads later, we are about half way through. As I type Mrs BHB is playing with his slide projector, with a tear in her eye.

Still all a bit in turmoil here, no death certificate yet due to the post mortem, but still waiting as we have yet to organise the funeral.

Have learnt over the last couple of days that for some people money is more important than family. ....Vultures circling ....
Very complicated estate to sort, but in summary - the lady FIL was living with's family were pricing up the £18000 caravanette for sale and finding a buyer the day after he lost his life, the whole family grabbing stuff for sale to make some cash, computers being sold, digital cameras etc. being taken.
And the thing is Mrs BHB and her brother are supposed to be sorting out the estate as 'officially' they were not cohabiting but just sharing a house, and they are the the ones supposed to be dealing with it. Its all gone a bit aggressive and nasty.

All very stress inducing for poor Mrs BHB, who, I have to say, is AF so far today ....:T
Alas I have succumbed to the beer can and have just opened the first of the day :o.
Don't worry - only have a couple of cans ;)

Also just wanted to say how much I appreciate this thread :D
You are all always here, thank you.

    xx

    Andy

PS. As for 5 weeks off work Jo ......... GGRRRRRRRR :mad: :D

Sending lots of (((((HUGS))) your way.

    Love

  • Hi everyone:hello::hello:

Well, it wasn't an AFD yesterday because I was out with Mr PIR celebrating ... I got the job !!!:j:j
I am completely stunned - it's only temporary, maternity cover for up to a year. But it gets me back into the work world - I've been freelancing for 15 years. It will do everybody in my family so much good. I'm already 100% happier. It's full time though, so that will take a lot of getting used to  I'll leave home before my teenagers go to school - normally DD1 and DD2 only get up after I've shouted 4 times in their bedrooms ... every day ... exhausting! I've told them I'll only be shouting twice when i start the job, and then it's up to them to get themselves up and off to school :rotfl:

Budgie seemed to know something - she had 'a Budgie feeling' about the interview - seriously, are you psychic, Budgie?

WBF - thanks for drawing my attention to the assessment - I didn't know what it was going to be, but your comment made me give it a lot of thought beforehand, which helped.

Anyway, I've come back down to earth now, and will remain AF until end of the month in order to achieve my goal. Hangover today was hard to deal with, but did not give myself a hard time about it for once.

I too will be joining in the group hug on Monday.

There have been some lovely, thoughtful posts on here over the last day or so, many of which have been very soulful. Thank you to everybody for being here and being nice to each other - it's so important. This is a little oasis away from the hurly burly of every day life and stresses. It has helped me so much over the past couple of months - I even think it helped me to focus and to go for this job.

    Night night xx

Thanks for my 3-some smiley. I love it!!

    Congratulations on the job PIR.

Hope you had a lovely night with OH fay. May I ask (from sheer curiosity) where does he live that he has to fly in to be with you? You must be worth it!

Have a good day tomorrow jo I hope you track down the support you're looking for.

BHB, the vultures circling sounds thoroughly unpleasant. I've been an executor twice but both times with a will and very pleasant relatives. I do sympathise with you and Mrs BHB. I definitely don't criticise you for having a drink under the circs (nor would I criticise Lady Wideload if she were to succumb). Were you not at home or had the AF stash lost its appeal?

69chick, you sound much perkier than earlier in the week. Hope you are over the worst but what of Budgie???

    'night all :A
