Now I am back again ;)

Darling Jo I hope I haven't gone on too much but I really am so very worried about you? I do hope that you can find a way through this? I am thinking of you, hugs (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hiya Dear Lurky :hello:hope you are ok mate? Thanks for the mail I have replied ;) yes I know I go on abit :rotfl:Have a fabby bank holiday and big hugs (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Winebox Hugs hunny and I am so sorry you are not too good at the moment. It is worrying as you say that you were thinking of drinking so early today, it is always best not to have any in the house and then you can't drink any. Remember a while back you said that your birthday present to your DD was to stop this cycle of drinking. I know it is easier to say than to do, and I myself have been very off track too. But please do try to beat this, its a never ending tiresome problem that we all have, is it not? Hugs sweetheart and so glad you are posting on here, you are a tonic and a sweetheart. Hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

40sm hugs to you too and I hope you will soon be feeling brighter, your 3 Ds's will be back at school very soon now and I am sure you will be glad to get back into a routine. The holidays are so long and the summer has not been great so occupying them must be very hard and expensive if you want to do anything. Hugs and lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Pricey sweetheart not long now until your job starts and yes you will be delegating. Start as you mean to go on, though it souns like we could all do with a YM at home. I hope Mrs YM knows how lucky she is? Good luck for when you start and well done on getting the job :T I am sure it will be the best thing you have done in a very long time. Hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ym hugs matey and so glad you are a male, (I always thought you were) ;) It was the rufty tufty handshake that did it for me. I am considering my September target at the moment? I am being sooooooo indecisive  But I shall update you asap if thats ok? Well done on volunteering apart from Dear Lurky we have all been female I think  Have a fabby weekend and hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Fay hugs hunny and how are you doing? I hope all is well with you? We all seem to have been a bit off track recently. New resolve to be a better me ;) How are the wedding plans going? I hope work is better too sweetheart. Lots of love n hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Bhb hugs matey and how are you doing too? You seem to have been a little quiet too  I do hope you and your lovely family are ok? Thinking of you and sending you lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I too have wondered what job you do when you get up so early sometimes  Also I have meant to say before how sorry I was to read how young your first husband was when he passed away. I really don't know how you coped and I guess it has made you realise just how precious the time we have with our loved ones. You really are a diamond and thankyou for always being here and the support you give. Hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

GG hope you are ok and it is the X Factor :j Lets see who is on tonight and if they are any good? Big hugs and have a fab weekend. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

GC hugs matey and as always you are here helping us all on our way, when I was in London I say a poster which read: "You do the maths" made me smile ;) Take care and hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Been very busy with that and new animals for the smallholding. No rest for the wicked hey? :rotfl:

[STRIKE]Ummm - can anybody tell what the weird fractions in Miss Piggy's post are? I can just about understand something like 15/31 but not 16/11. [/STRIKE] Sorry ok I got it, doh :o

I have now finished what should be my last bottle of sherry. No more. So if there are targets then please 30 days for September for me . Can't put aside what I save as shouldn't afford this anyway.

My problem is not drinking socially - problem is drinking alone at home after DD has gone to bed and it has now slipped that it already starts when I come home after picking her up and I know I don't need to drive again that day. Not good.

GC your quite correct in most of what you say, most if not all of us are addicted to alcohol and some/all of us need to break this habit... I do think we probably come under different catagories depending on what/and how much we drink.. but at the end of the day we are ALL in the same boat for trying to break the addiction/habit and i'm rowing with the best of them.. well I will be come September...!!

True - I don't think we are all addicted to alcohol, but we all abuse it too regularly. I didn't have a physical addiction to alcohol, but definitely had a mental one.
    That makes me an alcoholic.
Alcoholism is not about units drunk, but rather the lack of being able to have long periods of continuous AFness without going mad!!

I could stop drinking (for a few days) but couldn't stay stopped.
I could not control my drinking easily, and felt resentful if I had a drink and couldn't have any more.

This disease kills people in their thousands.
For those it doesn't kill physically, it erodes self-respect and self-esteem, integrity, and selflessness.
After a while, one starts not to trust oneself. I said to myself so many times 'I will give up' and sincerely meant it. Every time I drank again, a little part of my self-esteem died, and I knew I couldn't trust myself. Even so, I would then promise myself again I would give up, and so on.
We judge others and judge ourselves on our actions, not our intentions.
I had every intention in the world to stop drinking, though I could not do it by myself, and the action would not follow the intention. So I would be hacked off with myself (for drinking again) and other people would see my drinking again and judge me on that, not my intention to stop drinking.
Now I know that action is key, not intentions.
We are good people full of good intentions, but without the action these are meaningless.

Promising to be AF and then breaking the promise/changing the 'rules'/justifying the moving goalposts, etc is all part of this illness.

Drinking when it causes pain and harm to loved ones is massively selfish.
Even if every time you drink you may not always upset them, it is those few occasions where chaos and madness ensue that really causes the damage.
I hurt my friends and family through my drinking - we all do - but at least now I can look myself in the mirror and say to myself that my drinking hasn't upset anyone today.

    Good luck my friends

Did my first Asda online shop yesterday and it should have been here between 6 and 8 today, still waiting we are all starving and the dog thinks its rubbish too ;) He should have had his dinner by now. It also contains my Ginger cordial and soda water, which I could do with.
