my ex mother in law told me to give the baby a teaspoon of whiskey if he didn't sleep, so I did one night and the poor mite screamed the house down - the stoopid woman didn't tell me to put it in the milk :eek::eek: x

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:omg can't stop laughing at this! My DD picked up a glass of whisky at OH's house thinking it was apple juice & took a huge swig, God the fuss. She was about 7. (Can't say I blame her I think it's vile too).

Have just had to catch up on about 20 pages!! Not been deliberately keeping away just really really BUSY. Being total crap on AF-front but at the same time the house looks great - all the ironing done (first time this year!!), shiny clean fish tank - the other most hated job after ironing - at least am keeping on top of stuff. My cough is terrible people keep saying I shouldn't be in work but I won't get paid if I take time off sick. Feeling rough ain't helping the reslove for some reason.

I knew I had quite a bit of wine in the house to come back to from holiday (note the word "had") but that was deliberate, I was determined to prove I could be AF even tho it was there. a sort of "I'll show you who's boss!" bravado. Well, bad idea! now I know who the boss is........

Not only am I NOT going to keep wine in the house any more, but I'm going to take away the winerack altogether so it's not there taunting me & move the furniture round a bit. That'll be odd, not having one.

I find it depressing seeing it there as a symbol of the fact that it can't be used for its intended purpose if I'm going to stay sober (when I've had the house af before I put bottles of soft drink in it but it still looked wrong).

The only thing I find slightly encouraging was reading all the posts about people drinking any alcohol if they can't get their favourite tipple. I can honestly say I've never done that & never would, I may drink a lot but I'm still fussy!! (That doesn't make me heroic of course when there's always my favourite tipple available....tho not for much longer)

Gin & grapefruit sounds gorgeous! However, in the same way that people on here are "scared" of alcohol that's how I feel about spirits, I've only ever been sick due to booze twice in my life, once on vodka & once on gin so now I NEVER have more than one G&T every couple of months & won't go near voddy.

All of which isn't very interesting really!! Sorry! (Just trying to out-talk Jo, but I give up :D)

ETA didn't mean it to sound as if the wine rack is moving the furniture

    Hi again,

Beleive someone (was it YM) said he (She?) had the house to themselves & usually embarks on a '12 can binge' sarting at noon! Well...I'd have done that in the past! G/F not here till Tuesday pm (bliss-REMOTE CONTROL IS MINE!) so previously I've got the old scotch/voddie out.... got chilled out in my PJ'S/dressing gown...& watched crap tv/played computer games drinking most of the day.....(how sad!)...

Today not even tempted! In fact might even go 'down south' (!) to see sister!

The fact that my leg is still a bit sore would make me MORE likely to want to 'drown my sorrows' but not this time...

has the boy turned a corner??!
