YM, can you add me to the list for September? I'm going to go for 21 days AF.

Three weeks seems a good length of time, but a month still sounds a bit daunting.

    Done.....................:D

Morning everyone :hello: Well its morning for me as I have not long been up ( nights ).

Marthasdad. As has been said you work out a total of days for next month that you are happy with when you will not have any alcohol and set that as your target. Someone ( Me next month ) keeps a running total of everyones scores and posts it eveyday so we can all see how we are going. It is only for fun and sometimes people do not reach their target or even exceed it :A ( 12 for me please Miss P ) :D. Let me know if you fancy it and just post a total and I will add you to the list as I have everyone who has posted today ;)

    Thanks Yellowmonkey,

    Well - here goes - I'll go for (20 AFDs)in September please:D

    Also - I'm going for (4 in August) cos if I don't start now, i never will!!?

Finally - I've added a column on my monthly budget spreadsheet to show me how much money I've not drunk over the course of the month - hopefully that will motivate me too!? I'm really hoping to get to next payday and have some money left over - that'll give me the proper boost I need!!:T

Thanks for the advice - I'll keep updating progress on here - I've just been to give blood, so feel quite cleansed already (10th pint today - of blood!!!!) and good about myself.

    Wish me luck.....:rotfl:

Marthasdad.........I sincerely hope you meant 10th pint IN TOTAL, over a period of time was today.......I dont think you'd be worrying too much about your alcohol consumption if you'd given 10 pints of blood today.:D

Unfortunately the New NHS system doesn't allow the dentist any flexibility.
There used to be a small nhs fee for "assessment and advice" which would go towards the time taken to examine you.
The new system has only 3 fees which means sometimes people get stung.
The alternative for the dentist is to not charge you at all, which would then mean the NHS wouldn't know you had been in, which would lead to one of their beloved boxes not being ticked. Then if the dentist did that often enough they would then get penalised by the NHS for underperforming!
It's a silly system that has few if any redeeming features

I think the system is better now. I never have anything wrong with my teeth though so I just pay £16 twice a year for a check up and a scale and polish. My DH went recently and he had to have a lot of work so we were glad there is only one high fee now. My DH paid over £250 for far less work with the old system.
