    Hugs to you 115k xx

I agree - any AFDs are good, but if you have personal problems then it is harder to do - like going on a diet or giving up smoking - if your head is not 'in the right place' then it makes it a million times harder. We all understand that, so please don't feel you are not doing ok because if you have probs then you are doing brilliantly having any AFD's IYKWIM

I flit in and out of this thread as sometimes all I think about is AF days and that means I am thinking about alcohol all the time.

Sometimes its good to take stock and return when you are ready. You will not be forgotten by people on here and I think that is a legacy from this thread that I think is unique and really supportive.

That is not to say I want you to go just that I understand your reasoning and , at the end of the day, it is you that counts in your life.

Take care and ( hopefully) see you tomorrow. The AF days are not a league table it is how You are doing for You

Yay to miss Piggy for stepping up in August. Like Fay I was on the edge so thank you for jumping in there!

115k, if you decide to go we understand. Sometimes I know what you mean about thinking about it but I also find that the idea of you all being there helps me.

Managed to stay AF tonight after a big wobble in the supermarket. Go on, you deserve to celebrate your new job, go on your tired it'll relax you etc. But managed to not buy any and scurry home.

New job seems fine, a bit chaotic though.

So that's 9/16 for me please Jo

Apologies if out of place, but sometimes I could really SCREAM at this thread... we have our problems... let's not blame/pass/assume they are anyone/everyone else's problem.... sometimes they are just part of life with/or without alcohol...

sorry... sneaking off quietly again before causing a riot...

Agree 100% - usually we drink the way we drink because LIFE is the problem - alcohol is a short term solution that stops working after a while.
Thus the first issue is to change the way we drink - you cannot change your life when drunk. After the fog has started to lift, then you change your life, and your reaction to the angers, resentments, self-pities, pride, dishonest, slothful behaviours of life.
You cannot change the world - you can only change yourself

I agree with what you are saying GC. I usually find a lot of sense in what you write on here but I don't think I am ready to change my relationship with alcohol completely as yet.

I am not AF again today and I think I might take a break from this thread for a while. I have got some personal problems at the moment and I can't really focus on cutting down on alcohol right now. I know drinking isn't solving any of my problems but I am not in the right frame of mind to give cutting down proper focus at this point in time.

I think everyone on here is doing very well and trying very hard. :A I hope to be back and ready to try again soon. Take care.x

All the best 115K - don't be a stranger too for too long and I hope the problems sort themselves out.

115K haven't you been a member of this thread for sometime now, i'm sure you were here when I joined...

I think (personally) that any AFD's are a result.. target's, well they are set in the hope that we can achieve them, without any target.... where will we be??? don't go, don't leave us.. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Any AFD's are better than none, and I know GC will jump on us about being Alcoholics but if you can do some days without then its better than none.. please don't go. ..................please...................................

The only person who is definitely an alcoholic here is me. I don't know about other posters, but some of the people share some traits which could be considered abnormal with regards to alcohol.
No-one is an alcoholic until they admit it

Morning All ... 4 For me please.
Definitely gets easier the more times you give up :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Agree totally with T2GU and GC with regard to life and Alcohol. The sooner I realise that the better

Everyone has got underlying issues and until we sort them out or accept them then then I guess we will keep coming back to the bottle (or can ;)).

Blimey, that's a bit deep for this time of the morning

Off to Chelmsford again today to sort some stuff, they are now not releasing FIL's body until he has had an autopsy as he went down so quickly . Obviously family upset, but nothing much we can do. Have to go and sign the papers today or it has to go to the coroner which could take ages apparently. So we can't even arrange the funeral yet.

The estate is proving very complicated to sort out with 'unofficial' partners, lack of a will, and generally paper all over the place, some missing ...... Secretary Mrs BHB is on the case :D

It has been an easy AF couple of days..... if that makes sense. I mean I have not craved at all really, so at least thats good. Mrs BHB hasn't touched a drop either.

It has really helped having some AF Fizz that actually tastes like the real thing. Though I know some on here think you should not have a replacement as you are continuing part of the habit. I am of course mixing it with more chocolate so hope that evens it out a little :rotfl:

I don't think I'm going down on the list for next months challenge, but you are not getting rid of me that easily as I still wish to post if you will have me ;)

I do think its a good idea to perhaps have a change from AF days to units, as I know some people are using the days that they do drink to binge a bit and probably drink more than they would have done on those days without the challenge.

MP - you haven't needed that whip yet , but could you wave it in the air a couple of times just to keep me on my toes :D

    Best Wishes to everyone
Hope you have a great day
    Andy
    xx

PS. Blimey - posts are getting longer .... must be the fuzz free head :rotfl:
:) Embrace your inner Hillbilly :)

    Morning all!

:eek:Everyones deserting me for next month! Was it something I said!?

115k - Please don't stay away long. Won't be the same without you.

BHB - I can fully understand. Next month or so will be hard for you and Mrs BHB so you don't need any extra pressure. Of course, I could always keep track of how many bars of chocklit you are scoffing!;):rotfl:

GC - once again I'm sat here nodding away like silly nodding dog! I agree that some people use alcohol as a short term solution to other problems. Some people don't (before someone jumps on me;)). Some people can have a perfectly healthy relationship with alchohol, able to drink in moderation, enjoying it socially etc. And theres the ones, like me, that regularly drink to excess, aren't entirely sure why and suffer the consequences in their relationships and health etc. I personally am starting to realise the reasons why I drank like I did. And you know what, they are TINY reasons. Just got into the habit of using alcohol to allay those problems/personal issues briefly. Think maybe if I approach those issues in a sober way I'm more likely to deal with them effectively. But thats just me, my thoughts on my relationship with alchohol.

WBF - glad job going okay. Don't worry, you can have September! (after I've had a nervous breakdown doing August ! And there was me hoping Jo would say she enjoys it so much she wants to carry on :rotfl::rotfl:)

Anyway, best get off here. Some cleaning etc to do this morning and then this afternoon me, Piglet and Mum are off for a mooch round Tesco's before I go to work. nearly out of coffee here - disaster!!!

    Have good days all

    Miss P
    xx
