  • Oh YM, you get me every time :rotfl:

 Honeybear. You'll find many on here who hear wine bells clanging away trying to ignore them. So welcome :D

Well, I'm feeling rather pleased with myself :jAF yesterday and it was okay. So now I have done one day I think it will be easier again. It's definitely getting past that first hurdle for me. So getting home and keeping busy instead of letting the boys run riot and me opening the bottle of wine is the way forward. So simple really :rotfl:

    Much love X
    Need to start again :o

And so you should. I find that once I am past the first day it is OK and nothing drastic happened because I did not drink.

  • Honeybear - Thanks and good luck with whatever you decide to do.

MOB - Whats your prediction for tonight then? I think anything less than a 3-0 win for Arsenal would be a poor result ;):rotfl:

:TThanks YM for the offer of September scoring. As I'm away from 9th to 29th on holiday (with no AF plans) I won't be keeping you busy! Loads of socialising for me at the moment, mainly catching up with friends and family during school holidays.

Still deciding on tonight. (that's whether to be AF not Celtic v Arsenal). Celtic have a decent home record but Arsenal were absolutely flying on Saturday.

Welcome Honeybear, loads of bottle-a-night habit people on here. Personally I'm a cutter-downer (I drink at weekends and social occasions now instead of every night without fail). Why not try some AF nights (what about three and then see how you feel when you get to Friday?) and then maybe think about a target for September or even a small one for the remainder of August. Find a pattern that suits you unless you want to give up all together. I'm not promising it's easy but the support on here is great!

    Be back later.

  • foreverhopeful, it's fab to read you've done an AFD and you feel good about it - you should, it's a great start! Congrats! :A

samandsheryl I am on my 9th AFD too :A.........it's an awesome feeling, I agree!

Well, it is now anyway - as you might know, I had a bit of a bad time physically and emotionally during the first few days of being dry, but it looks like I'm coming out the other side now......... here's hoping anyway! :j

And have made a resolution for the rest of the month, as per my signature. It may not be much but at least it's a start :)

i read a lot of this thread yesterday...

i'm in the "doing a bottle a night every night without fail with more at weekends" club, along with my hubby, spending a fortune, waking up feeling crappy, piling on stupid amounts of weight....

not sure at what point we realised that actually it wasn't very acceptable to do this... so last week were AF tues weds & thurs, with the intention of just 2 bottles between us fri nite... achieved... plan was none sat or sun, but saturday chinese called, and you HAVE to have it with wine don't you? so drank 3 bottles... woke up half dead sunday... then was invited to a bbq, there were 4 of us, my hubby was driving so not drinking, her hubby only had 3 glasses, and i think between us we polished off 6 bottles... then came home & drank more...

AF last night, and tonight will be too...

have been finding myself pacing in the evenings, interesting to read that's "normal"...

and have lost track of whatever else i was going to say in my introductory "speech"

anyway, pleased to meet you all,
