The giving up/cutting down alcohol support thread! Part 4

Hey, I've been alcohol free for four months now!
Mind you it did take the help of Alcoholics Anonymous to help me find the right path and I wish I did it years ago.
I reckon I've 'saved' (I've just spent the money on nicer things; like bills and stuff) nearly £2000 maybe more, from money not spent on booze and time spent working when normally I'd be drinking (I'm self emp).
So I just thought I'd tip my hat and suggest AA is a great place if you think you have a 'drinking problem'.
Regards,
Tosh
Hi Tosh, and well done on your 4 months AF:T:T:T, not to mention the moneysaving bit which is amazing.
Just being nosy, but did you go straight to AA, or did you try other things first to help you stop?0 -
Hi all
Well done on staying AF last night. I feel so much better today - hurrah! Having said that I did sleep really badly last night too - two visitations from the little darlings, and then a really vivid dream that I was auditioning for the part of Nancy standing on top of a ladder for that female judge from Dancing on Ice. May I just point out that in real life I cannot sing at all! It is quite a worry!
40SM - The constant fighting is such a bore, although I have to say I am still dreading them going back to school, I do miss them, although I am not looking forward to the early mornings and the school run. Loving the weetabix at 6pm - what time did he go to bed?
Sam - Oh no, you and I are going to have an issue tonight!!! You can call me Mumofbhoys !;)
Fay - I have bought some Hellebores for a very shady corner, and want to put in some Euphorbia too, but I think they are both early flowering, any ideas for some summer interest? Do Digitalis do ok in shade? Also planted some Kale in the smallest veg patch ever seen!
Jo - Hope you are having a good holiday - don't punish yourself if you are finding it hard going...
Cazza - Keep going you are such a star, well done!:D Don't try to tackle too much at once, you are doing great...
Right, I need to make a picnic as we are off on an adventure with bikes, dogs and friends to a lovely wood near to where we live. Catch up later.

yellowmonkey - ooooh what a fantastic photo! Makes me feel all warm and full of joy. :T
Reminds me of when my OH and I went to Canada (British Columbia) in October 2006. The trees were turning vivid pinks and golds and reds and yellows - soooo beautiful.
*big sigh* (I need a holiday!!)
Hugs,
Caz

Hi there
I've been skulking round MSE for awhile. Finally taken the leap to post an SOA but I really wanted to post on here too cos one of my money problems is definitely that I spend far too much on red wine & this seemed like a place that might help with that?

MOB - yeah they are woodland plants so they are great in shade and are more early summer than spring - bluebells also good, pink purslane, and some evergreen things like Vinca major or minor (beautiful purple flowers and glossy all year round foliage)
Stick shade loving plants into google images - UK and you will get a whole lot of interesting things - lots of bulbs like shade too........and euphorbias can flower all summer if you pick the right onesTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
