Caz, you will start to feel better. I've noticed from posting on this thread (for so long!!), that everyone seems to have a dip in their first week or two of AF'ness. I think GC is right that you are now in tune with your body, plus your body is used to having alcohol fueling it, but after 72 hours all alcohol has left your body so now you are running on life :D

You are doing fantastic, please keep going :)

Me, on the other hand, is doing poo.

I have got a grip though this morning (as well as a pain in my side :undecided) and will not be drinking today, I need to be un-hung-over'ed when I see the counsellor in the morning. Plus I am very excited as I've just seen a job advertised in a role that I used to do previous to my school job and I WANT IT!!! I've just typed up my covering letter to go with my CV and I've sent it, I NEED to get in there to have an interview cos I don't feel it's possible to come over in a letter. I think some employers, when they are inundated with applications, they scan the first few lines and make their decision from there. Please, please, let them read the whole letter

  • Jo - all the best of luck with your job application, how exciting! :T

I'll join you in sending "read the whole letter" vibes out from my desk........:D :D:D:D:D

I get a pain in my left side, radiating into my lower back, the day after drinking too much. I tried to find out what it could be (yes everyone, I know it is the drink.....) that is to say, which organ was causing the ache/pain, but I never discovered anything conclusive. I've narrowed it down to my liver or kidneys (or both??).

    Hugs,

Cazza "still feeling poo" Smazza :p

Morning all, almost good weather here! Got the sheets in the wash so hope it stays.Going for Acupuncture this afternoon for sinus problems I have had since January, even an Op has not solved them, have given up on Doctors now and thought I would try other things, next stop will be a Homeopath! I have been really low but a drink would not help,at least I know that .

See some people are doing really well with their targets and some not so well!

Caz sorry you feel rough, seems to be the norm a few days after stopping drinking,it will pass I promise. You said you had phone numbers, have a chat to someone.I know my head was all over the place when I put the drink down and I got wonderful support from others that had been there before me and knew if they did it so could I.I so feel for you and I wish you well

Jo hope tomorrow is good for you, what are you having for tea?your meals always sound delicious.

I am hopeless remembering names but waves to all.:heartsmil

Your liver is on the right, just under the lower ribs. It's your stomach and kidneys that are over on the left. Mine is around the liver area, I know my liver is enflamed already so I'm making it worse. It felt a bit like time of the month pain but higher up

Yes, please, everyone, "read the whole letter" vibes :D:D:D

  • Hi, sorry I haven't posted for a few days, but I have been rushed off my feet.

Well, Tuesday was my day of horror, and by the time 7pm came I was swimming in a massive glass of wine in my head. I did steer clear, although it was definitely the closest I have come so far to caving. That means a whole week AF. I can't quite believe it.

Cazza, I too have gone from feeling great, to feeling completely shattered, head achy and generally poo, but I have also found that if I drink enough water during the day, the rubbish feelings are not so bad.

40SM, sounds like you may have been having a bit of a time of it with the kids too - I hope you are ok?

Jo, sending letter vibes also - don't forget the covering letter and CV are like the bait - a sales document to get them to want to see you. good luck, and hope your AFD goes well today. Thinking of you.

My DS1 (I've only just worked out what these abbreviations mean....!!!) is poorly on the sofa, and I am working. Bit worried it might be the dreaded Swine flu, and he has a high temperature, aches, sore throat etc. They have said he can have Tamiflu but I am a bit worried due to all the reports in the paper about kids taking it.

Lots of lots to everyone else.

MOB, sorry to hear DS1 is ill :(

I would try going down the over the counter route if I were you. Cuprofen is good, it's ibruprofen which will help with the aches and the temp. Lots of cool drinks and keep him cool, get some of those sticky cooling things you put on the forehead, they're good too. He needs to build his own immunity to it cos they say it's gonna get worse in the autumn months when the kids go back to school and as it will mutate the tamiflu won't work. Scary stuff and not nice to watch but I've seen a few kids come down with it at the school I work in and they were right as rein in a few days. (((())))

  • Thanks Jo, that's really what I was thinking. His temperature actually seems to be ok with calpol and nurofen regularly, so as long as that stays the same, then I will continue as we are. He was up in the night babbling and very hot though - it is horrid to see. I would take it all for him if I could.
