How lubberly in comparison to Bitburger Drive?DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
No comparison, just like the real thing. Though I have a mixed case of 10 different AF beers to try too;)
I know it cost a lot, but I would have spent it on beer or wine anyway:eek:Embrace your inner Hillbilly

What a good point, no shooting Jo anyone, Jo included!!!0 -
Hi. Just time to say hi everyone. Jo, if anyone is to be shot it should be me, I'm doing so badly this month. I'm drinking a lovely glass of wine right now. Personal life is just awful, I know alcohol isn't the answer and really makes things worse but right now it's helping to dull the stress. Don't worry, it will just be a few glasses. I think it's a great idea to change the targets, we have to be realistic. It's better than just throwing in the towel completely. I'm not ready to set a new target but I'm just trying on a day-to-day basis. I can't read back on what you've all been up to right now but I hope everyone is well. I'm so pleased we're all here to help each other. Have a good evening everyone!0

Have just read through todays posts and it has really touched me how many of you have said get well soon, I am not getting a lot of support at the moment here, but getting my virtual friends support is really great..
YM Love the illy smiley thing, it looks exactly how I have been all day!!
You have been told Jo, no shooting of you by any means people make mistakes and the key is to move on from them and try again...you know you can do it if you want to ....actually I don't know if I have missed it but didn't you have to go back for more tests at your gp at some point? or maybe I am remembering that wrong..
Miss P you really are an inspiration :T you are doing so well, keep up the good work hun....and the thing about you rushing down to your wine after reading to piglet is sort of like me, only I used to take my glass of wine up with me whilst putting ds to bed
BHB I will have to give some of that af wine a go, I love brut...
Fay Happy birthday to your DD _party_
FluffyB, you might find on your socialising in the week times that you don't have as much as you would have done in the past which is something to aim for, but like you say, you are allowing yourself socialising drinks so no need to beat yourself up at all xx
WBF Thanks for the 'wine flu' joke :rotfl: dh keeps saying that is what I have anyway!!!
Its lovely to see so many of you on here the last couple of days in high spirits (apart from the sad news for mr and mrs bhb) it has been so positive to read :T
The diagnosing of the swine flu thing is done over the phone now an dh had to go and pick up the medication taking our id with him ....they just check the symptoms and mine match up, but it could be that it is another type of flu I guess anyway I just hope the tablets help, I am supposed to be driving down to my Mums on Friday, just me and the kids
Right hugs to everyone, gotta go now as can feel a hot sweat coming on (sorry tmi) off to take some more paracetamolStarting with Avon C6 target sales £150.000 -
Evening folks,
Well I had a mulligan on Friday and felt so ashamed that I'm only able to write about it now. Went to the pub after work for 'just the one' as I had a friend coming for dinner. Ended up getting absolutely pi**ed, friend arrived at my house and had to phone me as I was still in the pub. I turned up god knows how much time later with a bag of random takeaway things - nothing you could call a meal - and had to be put to bed.
What a way to treat a friend. I am so ashamed of my behaviour. I believe that I'm a good person but alcohol - that first glass - changes me so dramatically and after that first glass there's no going back.
Feeling very positive now as have been AF since and have decided to do a Miss P and cut the alc out of my life.
As our wise GC I think has said - if you don't have that first drink, you can't get drunk.
One day at a time...
PS - 69chick - sending you get well soon wishes and hugs.0 -

G'night all!0 -

Thanks for your message WBF. Friend put me to bed and left. It's a very good friend that I've known for 20 years and who has constantly been telling me I shouldn't drink as I'm a different person on it and a danger to myself.
Have apologised, but know that actions speak louder than words and I need to prove to this person (and of course myself) that I can be sober.
