Hi I know I managed to say hello at the beginning of the week and have since been silent. No network and I'm at a loss!!
I joined in cos I know drinking every night is NO good at all...well its fun at the time...but in the morning ... not quite so fun. I have been catching up with some of your stories and I really do feel for some of you and what you have been through. Puts my problems/worries into perspective.
I know I do drink out of habit.. I don't usually start drinking until the evening but when I am on a binge.. ie been drinking heavily the night before I can see myself starting to drink earlier the next day..
I must admit since I say hi on Tuesday I have not had a drink since..
so please put me down for 4 AFD's at the moment . I do feel a lot better and trying to keep myself busy all day and in the evening. Think the last time I stopped drinking I made it for 7 days. The weekend is ahead of me so will hopefully find more things to do rather than drink.
Excuse the ramblings but so far this has done me some good.
Enjoy your Saturdays!

well done Miss BN - I totally understand what you mean about breaking habits
And to the AF free Friday club - I would like to report another success - I was sat there with my elderflower and tonic in a wine glass. It was quite a struggle because although I had no white wine in, (the red never really grabs me on its own) - I was stomping round looking at the drinks cabinet which just has bizarre things like blue bols and madeira in it. I actually contemplated whether I could make some kind of cocktail with them - hey, after all its FridayThen I told myself to get a grip
Didn't do so well on the healthy eating and no spend - we got a takeaway kebab
Was yummy though
Put me down for 4 AF days please now
Hugs to all those who are having a rough timeBack to comping! July wins: Frylight August wins: Pixar DVD, Diesel Watch,£75 hamper brioche products September wins bath soak

36 Units for me Miss P, Still logging them up but not as quick as normal, so I guess that's good
 Only 1 AF this week. Roll on normality
BBQ this afternoon, but have to drive home so won't be drinking there, but have 1/3 bottle of wine in the fridge so may well have that when I get home ??
Best Wishes

Thank you for your very brave post TangoChick.
Denial.
I was in denial about my alcoholism, despite being admitted to hospital as an emergency patient and given a 50% chance of survival.
It took five weeks in rehab for me to finally admit that I was an alcoholic.

Tangochick, I'm sorry for your loss. I wish I had the words to make your pain go away at this moment. All I can say is be kind to yourself, cry when you want to cry and forget being strong/brave. Been where you are.DC.

Good Morning all.
AF Friday club - all went well:j. Watched OH polish off a bottle of wine and felt chuffed that I stuck with my Elderflower. It was tricky as the boys were all over the place after spending two nights with the in laws and being totally over indulged, so my stress levels by the time I superglued them into bed were stratospheric.
Also managed to go on a run this morning which I really wanted to do, only about 2km, but it is a restart after no running for a couple of months.
This morning my OH asked what the no drinking was all about, and I told him how worried I was. He then said, right, count me in, let's go on a health drive. I feel great about that.
Tangochick Thank you for your post. It must have cost you a lot emotionally to put your story down, and I feel deeply for you and your family. I do thank you for your selflessness in sharing at a difficult time, and on a personal level it has truly underlined my own motivations. I also told my OH your story, and I hope it has also made him think. Thank you.
I hope you are all doing well, and 40SM hope footie was good.
Who has AF plans for tonight? I am doing chilli and a movie and elderflower - anyone else up?
MOB0 -

Morning all
Another AF success story here, though was touch and go
I can't drink now even if I wanted to with OH watching me like a hawk
He was fine last night, didn't really talk about it, like I say he's a man of few words, he just contemplatesWe had a totally yummy curry, far far better than my own attempts, from the Punjabi Indian restaurant down the road which is very expensive and a bit of a treat for us, but as DD1 was out (again ) it was only the 2 of us so not so bad on the money front. I could eat in that restaurant every day of the week
I'm obviously up for an AF Saturday, will be difficult though as OH is out and I'm in charge of the remote control and will be eating crap food  so support will be required
Have a lovely day everyone.
Oh and well done MOB for doing the 2KM run, I think I might be able to manage 2ft :rotfl:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Hi Jo
Really well done!!! Glad you had such a nice curry. We had pizza, tried a new flavour which was a bit weird.
Have faith in yourself about tonight. Don't start by doubting yourself, you can do it...
I will try to post to exchange how we are doing, but my OH doesn't know I am on this forum, and I think would think I had completely lost the plot....
Have a good day.

Just a quick "hi" from me......very well done you af-ers last night!! & good luck for tonight. (elderflower is kak!!_pale_ I won't even touch the alcoholic variety).
I also had a great curry last night....what I remember of it. I took the dog in to the vet's on my way into town - just for booster vacs - & whilst I was waiting someone ran in saying her dog had collapsed so I said she could go in before me, & they carried in this gorgeous gun dog who was in a really bad way, so we had to wait for an hour & DD & I were both really upset trying not to blub in the waiting room, & they had a young boy with them & OH DEAR. (the poorly dog had to be taken off on a drip somewhere else so don't know what happened)
So by the time I got to my friend's I was in a state so had too much cava too quickly. I'm an idiot over animals - esp dogs - get far more upset than when people are hurt.
The good news from last night is that having "peaked too soon" I had a great sleep & totally no hangover today.
Gosh!! A vulcan has just flown over the house & now I've got the Red Arrows!!!! Must be a show on (no !!!!!!, Sherlock) - I live near an RAF base.
Have a good rest of weekend all.
Oh, Miss P, sorry you were poorly last night. Hope you're better today. Thank you for crediting me with 6 af days but still on 5.
