  • Interesting to note that FDI were with NatWest as well: Sort code 60-06-20 Account 31237746

You can easily prove that you have not received the promised service. Perhaps we should all start to complain to NatWest as well.
  • I too have been scammed by this company and am left devestated that the house we loved can no longer be ours. The only reason we went down this read was because the housing association that owns a lot of properties near us is doing loads of building work and it's put potential buyers off.... we have been on the market normally for 8 months. This seemed like a solution to our problem as we wanted to upsize to potentially start a family and because i'd recently started working from home and needed more space.... for no other reason!! we had been made an offer and all the paperwork was being handled or so we thought and we went on holiday - only to come back this week and finding that message on the internet.

Myself and my husband were crushed amd now have decided to leave the house off the arket for the time being duw to all of the building work and christmas approaching which is a slow time for home selling anyway!!

we are so upset by it all that we have lost the house we loved, and i have called the credit card company to try and get my £900 back and they seem confident that we can, they're sending me some forms out. I did quote the section 75 consumer credit act so i would recommend that anyone else does the same.... this received no argument whatsoever. as for the £99 debit card fee, guess thats a lesson learned.

My solicitors have been kind enough to offer to refund me in total because gladly not much paperwork had yet been done and they felt sorry for me i think!!!

please keep your experiences coming, it's nice to know that we're at least not alone in this.....

Polly you can reclaim any solicitors charges also from your credit card company, as FDI are in breach of contract, and also have incurred consequential loss, I urge everyone else who may have solicitors charges to follow this path as well, again as to the £99 (PLUS VAT) you have every right to regain this money, go and see your bank manager, explain everything that has happened, take in documentation too, and if they still insist upon not refunding you, tell them you are going to the financial omsbudman about them.

Looks like we might get to see the face of the guy behind all of this soon...
  • I don't believe it: My CC company just informed me that FDI is objecting to their account being backcharged saying I should not have been refunded. The cheek of it! Not only did they fail to deliver the service they promised, they also used my details fraudulently by using them more than once. I am surprised someone is still available to communicate. I thought they have all gone to the Bahamas with our money.

The CC company should refer the 'possible' fraud to the plod.

The resistance to refund shows a firm intention to keep the funds that were not authorised.
