    Grindeys LLL in Stoke-on-Trent

They're the !!!!!!s that keep stalling things on my purchase! Been asking for the same thing for weeks, they don't seem to like replying though. Was only by getting the EA to give them a prod I stand a chance of buying, only got a 3 month timeframe and we're almost 2 months in :(

The reason the banks lack interest is because they already have these losses covered in their charges. The very same reason of course that a lot of shoplifters walk away unchallenged.

We apparently have to face the fact that people are falling for scams all the time and we all have to pay for it. I don’t think anyone on here is actually laughing at you if you fell for it. Me, I’m annoyed, as you are all costing us money with your willingness to hand over key personal information to anybody and everybody.

The clue is in the thread heading…

The clue may well indeed be in the heading... But not everyone had the foresight to look deeply into this company, after all there really did not seem any reason to, perhaps we are not all as wise as you, and I'm so sorry your annoyed at us for costing you money... perhaps instead of coming on here to berate us about that fact, you could be a little helpful?
I myself do not make a habit out of handing over my personal details willy nilly, I was recently asked by a till person in Asda for my postcode, I would not even give that out.

Anyway to those of you who need help, please refer to my other posts about how to actually claim your money back.

the upfront payment should of rung everyone's alarm bells.....
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
  • You pay a lot of people upfront. In fact, every time you order something over the phone and pay by card it is an up front payment.

Oh, and my solicitor wanted £200 as well before he agreed to act for me. He certainly is not a crook.

On the other hand, those FDI people were much more professional than your average electricity contract sales person. They went to great lengths to appear genuine.

Wow thanks for that insightful and really helpful comment...:T:T:T:T:T
  • I just made a rather weird observation. I am not going to tell you what it is, but try to check all your credit card transactions from the day you started to deal with FDI up to today (i.e. even the ones you do not have on paper yet). If you find anything suspicious, let us all know.

Looks like our only option to get thehouse we want, is to convert ot a buy to let morgtage and rent to my mother & father in law, so thats 2 sets of parents I am now supporting, isnt it supposed to be the other way around???
  • I am just palian angry about the way my debit card details have been abused by FDI. My bank basically has taken the view that I compromised the card by giving out the details. Also, how does chargeback operate and how should i go about requesting it.

    Pn
  • Of course you were.

Very nicely put, Id say! :D:D:D:D
