just a quick question, has anyone got any experience of the homewood suites on international drive? we are going to book again for this year and our older daughters are going and we wanted a bed and breakfast so it works out better for them. we have been loads of times but not to this hotel/suites it seems like a nice place but you can never tell. i have read reviews on it and they all seem good but i cant always trust these, we booked wyndham orlando last year and the reviews were horrific but when we arrived we loved it!!
thanks in advance

Is that the right one you are planning on staying as there are w few in Orlando.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -
Not sure if this is a silly question, but, regarding travel insurance how does everyone protect the cost of their park tickets if they need to cancel their holiday for any reason? I am looking at The Post Office Insurance but the advisor said they only cover upto £250 for tickets and £250 personal money. This is nowhere near what the tickets cost. Are they covered on credit card?0

That's a good question. I must admit it's never crossed my mind to check as I've always gone for a ticket that would have done for a different holiday if we'd had to cancel (as we would have rebooked to go again at a later time).
I'll be interested to hear the answers to this0 -
Thanks can you quickly explain the double drop bag process?
Jem had it spot on.
In theory they "allow" you to take the bags onto the monorail nowadays, but I believe the only exception to that is if you have too much stuff to safely carry it all (2 adults and one child have three cases and a pushchair between them for example).0 -

Well could you not put off buying tickets till nearer the time?
Things like the Orlando flexticket I doubt will go up in price (apart from currency) So I think you could wait.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -
Sorry if I'm asking some dumb questions but the thread is very, very long to read from start to finish.
Fingers crossed I will be taking my kids (2 adults, 3 children) to Orlando Feb 12 - 22, staying at the Lake buena vista condos.
Transfers are not included, is it worth getting a hire car from the airport or is there a good local transport (I belive there is a bus from the condo to Disney).
I've seen some talk about multi day or park tickets. Am I right in thinking these are different things? The disney ones are multi days, and the park ones are for seaworld, universal?
As we have only 8 days in reality, would people recommend we just do disney & if so, should we get a 7 day ticket, or do a couple of days of disney and a day at seaworld, universal and days off in between?
I've always wanted to see a space rocket take off, is cape canerveral far away and is there a way of finding out when a launch is taking place (again would a hire car be a good idea if this was possible to do?)
Thanks in advance.

I won't comment on which parks to go to, its all a personal thing, my last trip (2 adults) we didn't do any of the disney parks.
To get down to the shuttle launch site is about an hour and a half on a normal day, I looked into it as there was a shuttle launch when we were there last November, a lot of the information I found about it said that it could take 3 hours to get down there because of the traffic and 4 to 5 hours to get back so we decided not to bother.
Hope that helps.0 -
i think if you go onto NASA website it tells you when the next launch is. i got an email from them the other day as i signed up for newsletter but i deleted it , im sure it said feb but not 100% sure.

Ok so transport from the aiport to the condos. Not sure how much a taxi would cost but you can tray to find out here:

Mears are the main taxi company. We used them a few time, nice cars clean and good drivers.
What age are you children? Disney is good for younger kids but for teens I think there is a lack of thrill rides.
Disney tickets are complicated.
You can get ones that let you in a park once a day.
Or you can add park hopping that means you can go into any park any amount of times.
I have never been to Disney so I dont really know too much about them
For universal and Islando of adventure you can but a ticket where you can get into both parks and hop between them however much you want.
I really like these two parks great rides, the mummy is awesome!!!!!
Sea world is great Manta is an amazing ride. Good animals to look at and you can feed the rays and dolphins. Good for kids but not the cheapest thing to do with 3 kids
I would say dont just do disney if you can afford to go and visit other parks, they are totally trying to take over Orlando and I think its good to go and have a look at other pakrs and things. (I am a little anti disney)
Cape canerveral is about an hour to hour and a half away so it would be hire car. But you can pre book a tour to go there. We looked at it ourselves but decided against it.
