Apologies if you know all this already.

    Hi viva :):)

No I dont know this so I am grateful for any advice as I had read that SSR is a huge resort, this will be my first onsite stay as the last time we rented a villa in Kissimmee but neither DH or I are keen on the driving so we researched and it seemed an onsite stay would be our best bet especially when our kids are still young.

I was going to send a room request to SSR nearer the time, what area/building would you recommend? We dont mind a walk to DTD at night to go for dinner, walking seems so alien to the americans but we quite enjoy it. Thanks so much for your advice xx

I am doing the assignment about the e-commerce website, where I need to know the information about how to start a business in holiday packages

How money should I need to have to start up by travel agent business?
Who should I need to contact to, if I want to start my business?
What kind of research plan should I need to do?
What kind of payment method should I need to create it?

It's definitely sprawling! I'm guessing you'll want something that you can walk to Downtown Disney and that also has a pool and a bus stop nearby? Congress Park is the nearest area to DTD and also has a pool/bus stop/barbeque and play area.

Alternatively The Springs is near the centre of the resort, so you would have the main facilities nearby. I think The Paddock will be a bit further out than you'll be looking for.

Here's a map so you can see the actual rooms as you may want to request a particular building:

If it is important to be closer to the resort centre than DTD, go for The Springs. If it is important to be as close to DTD as the resort centre, but you are willing to walk 10 minutes to either, ask for Congress Park. You should be able to call up and put in room location requests and say that you won't be taking a car. They don't guarantee them but they do try and help when they can.

Sorry masonsmum, we're members next door at OKW which is where we normally stay, so haven't done it, but the kids activities are generally v good. Haven't seen it and up until reading your post thought it only happened at Fort Wilderness.

Can anyone tell me how much flights are likely to be in July 2015? I would be looking at booking them as soon as they were available (august 2014) but don't have a clue how much it expect.

I've just looked on sky scanner at flights for July this year, just to give me an idea. They were coming back at £1235 per person! I was pretty surprised tbh as I was thinking that I could get them around £700 - £800 per person. Can someone set me straight for next year please.

Hi Has anyone used a UK/EU disability parking badge in Florida. I've seen conflicting reports that they may or may not be recognised on the highways but are in some of the Parks.
  • I'm sure it's been asked before, so my apologies, but we're going on a Florida/Georgia/South Carolina road-trip in two weeks and would like to visit Magic Kingdom for a day. Where's the best(cheapest) place to get day passes for two adults?

    Many thanks

Flight bargains this year have been hard to come by compared to previous years. A few months ago, it was possible to book Virgin Premium Economy flights for around the £650 mark for July and August.

However, the catch was the initial flight was out of an Irish airport connecting through Manchester or Gatwick, so it was plus the additional cost of flights over to Ireland and a hotel. On the return flight, you could ask for your luggage to be offloaded at Manchester/Gatwick and not take the connecting flight over to Ireland.

Over the past week or so, it has been possible to get Manchester - Chicago - Fort Lauderdale flights for our own dates this year (30/07-15/08) for £550 through BA but onAmerican Airlines.

When you are searching, to give yourself the best chance, have a look at both direct and connecting flights to Orlando and Tampa (and Miami if you don't mind driving), plus connecting flights to these two airports plus Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach which can be quite a lot cheaper. Also worth checking charter airline search engines as these don't tend to get picked up on the likes of Kayak, Expedia etc.

Finally, it can be worth checking the cost of a fly drive with the airlines as these are sometimes cheaper than the flights alone - I have heard that BA can be particularly good with this. Again, also worth pricing up fly drives through tour companies, but be warned that they often say the car rental is free but then load it with the extra insurances, damage waivers etc.

    Fingers crossed for you.
