Thanks for your replies about costs. Looks like £8000 is probably about a right and won't leave an awful lot of wiggle room
I guess the biggest unknown is the flights and everything else I can take an informed guess at in advance.
Took a look at prices online for tickets for things last night and it looks like we might give Discovery Cove a miss: over £800 for the 4 of us for one day  It looks amazing but just not sure we could justify it.

Don't forget that depending on which DC package you book you can get SeaWorld/Busch Gardens/Aquatica included.
I've found that when I've worked out what these would cost separately and deducted this from the cost of the DC package it makes the cost of the day at DC much easier to justify2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

Thanks again
We got back from our 3rd visit last week. We went all out and did almost everything this time inc discovery cove. It surpassed everything, and I don't think it is too expensive for what you get. Your pass also includes 14 days aquatica and 14 days seaworld, and I think for $20 extra you can add busch gardens too. everything was just so near perfect (apart from a queue for lunch) Quite honestly, one of the best days we have ever had as a family.0 -
Has anyone booked the private cabanas at any of the water parks? Seems a good idea for young kids, but they are quite expensive...0

We went to Florida with travelcitydirect. They use virgin flights, and include hire car. We stayed at the Rosen inn on international drive.
We bought park tickets from american attractions, which were very reasonable.
One thing I would say is try not to pack too much into a 2week holiday. We only bought tickets for the Disney parks and a sea world/ bush gardens combo. That was plenty. We took a day off by spending the day at Clearwater beach mid way through, another rest day was at blizzard beach, and we had a day out and went to boggy creak airboat rides alligator spotting.0 -
Hi, Have been reading up on this thread with excitement, off to sunny Florida in about 6 weeks time. I have a question for you experts out there that I have yet to find the answer to-sorry if I've missed it!
We have been before and have bought our tickets from whatever company we have booked through, but have decided to run with the wind this time and book through undercover tourist which saves us a bit of cash- I hope to get the 10 day Disney, no hopper (too much hassle) and no water parks (done them). My question is what is the exchange rate generally like as we pay for them in dollars on credit cards?
Thank You in advance.LBM 17th April 2007:j

anyone who has been in the last year would be willing to tell me how much your holiday (or even an aspect of it) cost? You might be able to tell from my sig that I'm trying to save £8000 for a Disney/Florida hol (in 2016).
BTW - I'm talking a family of 4 (Kids will still be 10 and under), for two weeks in Florida,
Hi, we have just booked for 2015, and we are a family of 4 as well and I took advantage of the free disney dining offer on at the moment for 2015 holidays which will probably be re-released next April for 2016 holidays.
My holiday breakdown is
Disney Accommodation - 2 weeks, 2 adults, 2 children (aged 9 and 4) free Dining Plan and 14 day ultimate tickets, staying in a Deluxe Studio in Saratoga Springs
£3200.00
Flights with Thomas Cook £2500
So total holiday cost is £5700.00 but that includes food drink and park tickets, we are not hiring a car as we are going to take advantage of the Disney transport system, we will probably have a day or two off site as I want to visit Universal and IOA again though so I will need to factor in additional costs for that. x0 -

Masonsmum, that's a great deal. We are DVC members. Saratoga is a huge resort. There are two areas from which you can walk most easily to Downtown Disney. If you don't have a car with you, you may want to discuss this with front desk when you get there see if they can work out things so you have closer by. The longest way is via the bridge and across the back entrance to Disney West Side (you come in the Cirque de Soleil end), the other, shorter route is the opposite end of the resort, which snakes round and comes out next to the bus stops for Downtown Disney Marketplace.

Thank You in advance.
We've been paying the equivalent of about $1.60 to $1.62 on ours. The actual interbank was around $1.65 to $1.68. That's not on one of the recommended cards, just a standard vanilla one. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
