As I am having to travel out to Orlando a couple of days ahead of the rest of my family, I need to find some budget accommodation in a couple of weeks time for just two nights. All I want is single accommodation, clean, safe, secure, pool, airport transfer - good advice welcomed. I will probably not look to do much in the 48 hours apart from chill around the pool and some easy access to dining facilities.

Here's one technique: go into Google Maps, zoom and pan to a suitable area (for example US192 near the main gate to DisneyWorld, or International Drive), then do a search in Google Maps for:
    motels
Then explore the possibilities, if necessary visiting the relevant chain's web site to check facilities and rates. Then you can pick your desired price level.
    Here's the result for US192: https://www.google.co.uk/maps?q=motels&hl=en&ll=28.340043,-81.59636&spn=0.027385,0.052314&sll=28.340761,-81.59812&sspn=0.027384,0.052314&t=m&radius=1.91&hq=motels&z=15

Or you could just go straight to the chains and search them for "orlando".

I suspect that the requirement for the airport transfer might prove to be a problem though.

    Hope this helps.

If you stay on International Drive there is a Lynx bus from the airport takes you there. It takes a little while but for a couple of dollars it was great.

I took pounds but not the best idea. The rate by the my bank was 1.67, when I paid by card. Best I got at the exchanges places was 1.54.

My current account charged 2.75% + £1.50 per transaction.

Some credit cards charge 2.75% only, might be worth it as I say changing cash doesnt make sense.

I think Santander dont charge for using ATMs abroad.

Last year we had the quick serve dining plan. We had 1 child with us but ordered off the adult menu for her on occasion. There were simply meal and snack credits which were all in one, no separate allocation of kids meals credits. This may be different with the regular Disney dining, I don't know.
