0.7 miles is an acceptable walking distance, but is that safe,
is there somewhere to walk, i suppose a taxi would be fine,

it is so close as the crow flies, but i have done google maps, and its 4.8 miles by road, so i guess it is a taxi ride then,

It looks like there are pavements (sidewalks) but I haven't fully checked the whole way. There are several roads to cross. As for safety in terms of criminality I've no knowledge of the area but I'd be surprised if that was a problem except perhaps late at night.

Piglet, the hotel might have vending machines for drinks and snacks.

i think the 7 /11 will be perfect, it is G17 South stop in the I Trolley, our hotel is R25, so as long as we can get there by trolley that will be handy, thanks again,

Piglet, sorry, I keep posting as I keep discovering...

I just had a play around with the virtual tours on the hotel's web site and it looks like there's a kiosk in the hotel near the entrance that sells snacks, but I don't know whether it'll be open when you need it.

yes, there is a 24 hour snack bar available too, that might well do us on the first night, i was just thinking of having fruit, cereal, yoghurt, milk etc in the room, so we could get up, have breakfast, and be gone for the day! :j

piglet74 how long are you staying for? We always get a taxi to Walmart on the first day and stock up on cereals etc, but if you are only there a week or so the 7 - 11 up the road is ok. This year we arrived fairly late but the Walmart is of course 24hrs so still went, leaving the eldest (20) looking after the smaller kids while they were in bed.
