piglet74 how long are you staying for? We always get a taxi to Walmart on the first day and stock up on cereals etc, but if you are only there a week or so the 7 - 11 up the road is ok. This year we arrived fairly late but the Walmart is of course 24hrs so still went, leaving the eldest (20) looking after the smaller kids while they were in bed.

we are staying 10 nights, I am easy either way, taxi ride (i would love to get to walmart anyways!) or trolley to 7 / 11, either suits me,

i suppose i could go to 7 / 11 just for the first night, and always make it to walmart at another stage during the week,

    thanks for your post,

    There's a Walgreens
    Great post!

Grrrr, Google Maps categorises Walgreens under drug stores, not supermarkets, grrrr.... :)

Supermarkets near I-Drive... there's a big Publix across the road from the Premium outlet at the bottom end (the Apopka Vineland one) at trolley stop 41. A bit further to go, but may be worth it to get to a proper supermarket. Though I do like the Otis Spunkmeyer muffins from Walgreens for breakfast... nom, nom, nom.

Publix isn't 24h like Walmart, I think it closes about 10pm. So if you can't get there day 1, may be worth getting a few bits and bobs from Walgreens then popping in when you have more time.

    hi

    can anyone help / advise,

I am staying at the Rosen Plaza 9700 I Drive, and on the night we arrive it will be quite late on (730pm landing at airport, I imagine 930pm ish before we make the hotel) so we are not making any plans for the first night other than to get to a supermarket to get some snacks and food for the room, eg maybe cereal, milk, yoghurt

can anyone advice where the nearest / best supermarket may be, i was thinking of Walmart, but cannot find one on I Drive (unless the address is something else)

can anyone advise where is handy using the trolly ( we wont be driving)

    tia,

straight over road is a walgreens mate with a subway and dominoes next door
on same side of ur hotel is a pizza hut
walgreens will have everything u need

Piglet, sorry, I keep posting as I keep discovering...

I just had a play around with the virtual tours on the hotel's web site and it looks like there's a kiosk in the hotel near the entrance that sells snacks, but I don't know whether it'll be open when you need it.

    tia,

    See this

So in America things are large distances apart. Therefore driving is an absolute necessity. In fact, I walked out from the villa we were staying in to go to the shop I saw at corner of the highway and as soon as I got to the main road, I realised there were no pavements.

I-drive probably one of the few places where it's perfectly manageable without a car, sidewalks are wide and walking commonplace.
Villa communities, especially those on/around I-27, are different altogether.
