I did purchase an IPad from the apple store in Florida Mall saved £140, just needed to purchase a new plug for charger when I got back,

Seems that you can't go wrong with iPods, laptops and iPads but phones not so much.

Apples guarantee is wordwide so any faults you can take to a local store

    hi

    can anyone help with this,

our travel agent has included 14 days passes for IOA, Universal and Wet and Wild,

does anyone know, when we get there, can we upgrade them to express, or can you only do that on a daily basis

when i last visited, we had bought passes seperatly to the holiday, and then we bought a one day express, is there such a thing as a 14 day express?

    tia.

We've just got back on wednesday and had the same tickets. We got all of Islands of Adventure done in one evening apart from the hulk (2 mins too late) and universal studios done in 2 days, apart from the new harry potter ride (we were there on opening day), rip ride rocket and the minion ride. We had no express passes apart from on tuesday a lady came up to us and gave us 2 each, but we ended up using them on rides we had all ready been on. Plus the express lines were quite long, if I had have paid for express I would have been very annoyed.

In my opinion express passes are not worth it unless it's only for the minion ride which never dropped below 50 mins. Time your visits right, ie avoid parks between 12 and 6. Do a mixture of shows and rides, in universal there are 4 if I remember correctly, so 2 on each day.
    Hope this helps

PS The new harry potter extension is AMAZING. The dragon on gringotts breathes fire every 10- 15 mins.

Does anybody have any advice on how to reduce the amount you sweat?

My back is the main culprit, it generally drips when I am over there.

I haven't walked up the middle of Main St. USA for ages, I generally go through the shops as they are much cooler. Is heading for the AC the wrong decision?

If it's any consolation everyone is in the same boat. You will see lots of wet backs there. I don't sweat much but even I could feel it running down my back. Loose tops are the way to go.

Sorry Andy, am late to the party with this post. Agree - wear loose fitting clothing. However you will also feel cooler if you wear pale colours due to the way they reflect light compared to trapping it.

I'd also look at the cooling things you can get in Florida which makes your body cooler at key places. You can get them for your wrists, neck and head IIRC. Try googling Frogg Toggs. I have one of these as I get heatstroke. It's like a small towel that you can put round your neck, on your head etc.

I thought I wasn't the only one, I was just curious to see if there were any little tricks.

I wear '48 hour' Mitchum, which is like trying to stop a Tsunami with kitchen roll.

The clear gel Mitchum in America is much more affective than the types they sell here, though I am getting on well with the new Sure cream 48 hour thing

Embrace it...Florida this time of year is evil lol, you are sweating by the time you have walked to the car lol, cool strips and wet flannels are handy to keep around.

My 7 year old is at soccer camp at the mo and I have no idea how he is playing for 8 hrs a day in these temps!

I'm trying to plan a trip to disney and universal in October. It's a very specific type of holiday - we're taking a 12 year old friend of ours who is in the middle of her second bout of cancer. I need to find hotels (was thinking of I drive maybe) where transportation to disney is easy. I have never driven abroad ever so don't really want to start now so I need to find somewhere to stay that is

    A). Wheelchair accessible;
B). As easy as it can be to get to disney without being in a Disney hotel (which would be my preference as it's so easy).

Doesn't need to be as easy for universal as I intend to book into a universal hotel to get the hour at the beginning of the day as she won't be able to queue as much and I found it much worse than disney for queues.

    A few questions too-

    1. I know disney have stopped folk going to the front of queues for disabilities etc - is this a blanket ban now?
    2. What is the policy at universal?

    Thanks

    D

I would suggest maybe staying in Kissimmee for the Disney part of the trip, much closer to the parks so you dont spend too long on the buses. Im looking at the Ramada Gateway Hotel at the moment which has a shuttle to the park even though it is very close
