If you weren't keen on Port Orleans, I fear the All Star Music may be a disappointment - it's quite a lot below PO in terms of room size, food hall canteen - ness, and overall busy - ness.
I like them both so staying at either wouldn't bother me - but PO is much nicer!0 -
Port Orleans was basically fine, but it was incredibly busy and it seemed like the whole place was one giant production-line intended to push everyone through their day at the fastest rate possible. I appreciate that I'd have to pay more if I want 5* treatment, but I wasn't expecting to have to pay so much for a fairly basic package holiday.0

The value resorts are even busier, and, I'm afraid, much more like a production line. I must say that I haven't found the Disney hotels of the same class as PO to be that bad in that regard, but the values really are! I hate to point it out, but better to be mentally prepared. Sorry0 -

Annoying newbie here with question you have all probably been asked a million times.
Am considering taking my husband and baby to Orlando in late September.
I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations of travel companies to use that may be cheaper for booking a package than Virgin or Disney?
We have looked at Thomson and Thomas Cook but they dont fly on dates we want to so dont work.
So far we are looking at £2500 for Virgin flights from Manchester and 10 nights in WDW resort Port Orleans.
Does this sound reasonable, will we be able to find cheaper?
Thanks all!
(PS I know its crazy to take a baby under 1 to Florida - lots of reasons to do it tho as well)
Not crazy at all. I'm here now, for the month of August with our 5 month oldBaby 2b born March 2013! :j:j:j0 -
Oooh please let me know how you find it (and any tips for coping!) with a young baby 2ba3c, we're considering going next September and we should have a 6/7 month old (*knock on wood*) and we're swinging between thinking it'll be absolutely fine and thinking that we'd be crazy to even consider it! We're just really missing our Florida holiday this year and aren't mad about missing another year!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

Hi All,
I am squirrelling away money to save for our 1st Disney/Orlando Holiday. We're looking to go in 2016 which sounds so far away but it isn't really.
We want to go during our childrens school's summer half term which is usually the end of May. My son will be in year 6 so having Sats in May so I think we are looking at the last week of May and first week of June.
Realistically when would be the earliest we could book?
Thanks

Hi Naomim - just to say, we visited this year in the last week of May, first two weeks of June and would never go at this time of year again. The last week of May was ok, but the US schools start breaking up in June and the parks were just too busy to appreciate anything. We are lucky that we have been many times before and so know what we want to see, but for your first time I think this would be a nightmare. For example in the Magic Kingdom queues for the big rides were 2hrs plus and all fastpasses were sold out by 11am.
If you're really tied to school hols could you go in the October half term instead? I find the climate much better in Oct (no humidity), it's much quieter in the parks and you have all the halloween eventsI am Doll Parts

I want to take my disabled son who is 10 years old but he is still in nappies and I am worried about the flight as far as im aware i wouldnt be able to change his nappy.I read that there are disabled toilets on the new airbus but dont know if they would be suitable for transfering my son from chair to the toilet and whether there would be room for me to help him if that makes sense? I would have to figure out away to put his nappy on after using the toilet. xxx
We got back today from Florida. We flew with Virgin on the Airbus 330. In front of us was a family with a disabled adult who was carried to the toilet each time she needed it and was in nappies so i assume there are facilities for this to be done. Why not call the airlines ?0 -
Hi I realise I just posted about Crete but dallying over Paris instead lol
It's me, adult and my 2 year old son, both travelling from Coventry to Disney Paris. Can anyone offer advice on whether this is cheap or over the odds?
Tickets Cov-London Victoria Coach £5-7 each way (he travels free) on Nat express.
London Victoria-Paris Gallieni £64 return Nat Express.
Direct with Disney, for 4 nts/5 days £236 in Jan/Feb (room, tickets, breakfast).
Need to think about: Paris Gallieni to Disneyland travel, spending money, food at lunch & dinner, passport £118.
Does this pretty good? I see a lot of people going as 2 adults, 1 child or as a four so I'm a bit outside that. Can anyone give estimates as to the things I haven't thought of yet?
Sorry if I've posted too much, tryin to be careful wih everything, just need to check!Up and onwards to the future!
