According to Clubcard's website you CANNOT book fly-drive only and use Clubcard vouchers, you must also book accomodation.
Bookings must include a minimum of 7 nights’ accommodation, and accommodation must be booked for the full duration of the holiday. Tokens cannot be used against V. Hot Deals or the Virgin Holidays HIP Hotels brochure. Tokens cannot be used against Virgin Holidays Cruises or any other cruise product featured within Virgin Holidays brochures. Redemptions exclude accommodation only, flight only, fly drives, flight upgrades, hotel room upgrades, car upgrades, car insurance, fuel taxes, airport taxes, excursions, holiday insurance and any other optional extras. Tokens cannot be combined with any other offer or discount including Frequent Virgin Club discount.
Thank you for the replys. It was as I thought.
Have worked out for 5 adults to go and stay with Virgin it will cost me approx £5,500. Take of Tesco vouchers of £1,240, Total comes to £4,260.
If I book flights with Virgin, factor in 2 wks villa and a car(people carrier) it will cost approx £3,700. A saving of £560.
Also will still have the Tesco vouchers to spend. Thanks for your helpNice to save.0 -

Quick question - went to Seaworld yesterday and was offered the swim package at Discovery cove for $199 - is this worth it? We would need to juggle stuff around to fit this in but I am not sure whether it will be as good as we imagine it to be. Help!!!!0

How old are your kids mintster? Mine were 6 and 8 (while there) and the water was so cold for them. DS would only get into the lagoon - it was an expensive day swimming as the water with the rays and tropical fish was absolutely freezing, I could not even get him in past his knees.
For the same money you could get a 2 day dolphin trip to the Florida Keys with food, accomodation and a couple of additional trips and the dolphin interaction - have a look on Expedia - for even less money you can go for the dat trip including airboat ride and manatee swim - again on expedia.
We have been to DC - personally I wish we had waited until the kids were older to appreciate fully what it was all about. We got caught up in the hype of it. I wish we had gone to the keys instead.
if you just want the dolphin interaction and do not have the 2 days then maybe enquire about doing this at Seaworld - they have the details of their packages on their site. http://seaworldparks.com/en/seaworld-orlando/Attractions/Exclusive-Park-Experiences At DC you get to touch, learn about their noises and what different parts of their body are for - and then get pulled across the lagoon for about 30 metres. And they'll charge you around $100 for the photo's. I feel it was a bit of waste of money for us to be fair and honest and we could have learned the same at SW. My son would not even get in the water for the dolphin swim, I had to hold him the whole time, it was so cold, even with the wetsuits on.
Happy Birthday BTW - did you have a nice time (only just caught up, been away for a few days).0 -

We're looking at the Disney 14 Ultimate tickets....and just wondering is that the only package they do now for a 14 day holiday? I remember as a child there was lots of different options and hopper add ons. Now all I seem to find is a 7, 14 or 21 'ultimate' pass.
There are a couple of parks we want to do, but a couple we're not too fussed about. We want to know if its cheaper to just do two or three of them and pay individually....or if its cheaper just to get the 14 day ultimate pass!
Thanks in advance)

Thanks for all of the advice - you have helped to make this a fantastic holiday. My birthday was amazing - splashed by shamu, fed the stingrays and dolphins and rode the roller coasters at Seaworld, birthdays don't really get much better.
We have decided to knock Discovery Cove on the head just felt it would not live up to the hype, my son (7) was more than happy feeding the stingrays at SW.
Another question though, shopping advice - where do people recommend? I am after sunglasses and my partner is after Ugg boots. Found the Prime outlets (although the signs on the buildings have them as Premium Outlets - very confusing)?
Please forgive any spelling mistakes or crap grammar - is tough posting on mobile!0 -
Hi guys, I'm looking at taking the family to WDW next year (departing 19/4) for 2 weeks and have got my initial quotes in. They are:
2770 for flights (2 adults, 4 children flying with Virgin).
800 ish for a villa in Devenport.
370 car hire for a mini-van.
What do you think for a starting point? Can't believe how excited I'm getting - its been 25 years since I last went, the kids are going to love. I might too :-) Any information you give me will be really appreciated!0 -
well we've been back just over a week now and finally adjusted back but suffering Disney blues :-(
we stayed at the Floridays resort for the full 2 weeks, it was great, location was fab, apartment was huge and staff very friendly and helpful. Kids loved the pool (and so did we) it was open till 11 it was great to cool off after a long day.
we found the 1st few days very over welming as it was our 1st time but our Thompson rep was great couldn't have done more for us, he even gave us kids eat free cards which came in very handy!
we lost 3 days due to massive storm that we didn't want to take kids out in so didn't manage to get to Busch gardens. We did do mickeys not so scary Halloween party which was fantastic, we all had a great time getting dressed up and all the fab costumes we saw were amazing!
the kids found the food very repetitive so it was great to have a kitchen to do shep pie and jacket spuds some nights.
I don't think we will go anywhere else now we are total addicts :-) some good friends of ours are getting married at Disney June 2013 so we will have to go, it will be rude not to! Think we will do 1 week at Disney during the wedding then other week back at floridays next time :-)0 -
