In all honesty we'll be busy enough (and skint enough :rotfl:) with Disney, Universal & Seaworld!
On a different topic whats Kennedy Space Centre like for kids - I went to Florida numerous times as a child but never did this?
Thanks
We are returning to Orlando in October this year and are planning on visiting Kennedy as this trip we are planning on revisiting sites that we have not been to for about 10 years. We have taken our daughter who is 13 this year twice and have never visited Kennedy or Busch Gardens with her. We want to go to IOA as well as there was never anything to appeal to her there before. We are happy to take her to Kennedy now that she's much older as we didn't think a younger child would gain much from it. It's been a long time since we visited and I remember that trips around the site were done on buses as the site is so huge and there were parts that I found dull myself. Not sure I would take children as young as yours unless it's been updated to be more child friendly.maemaesmummy wrote: »Yes we have used Caronthedrive 3 times now and have them booked for both trips this year :j they are the best think since sliced bread..I can't rate them high enough.
Peter who owns COTD is brilliant! If you have any questions fire away..we have had their smallest car a Toyota Corolla, a Rav 4 and the top of the range 8 seater suv.
Thanks for this tip. We need to sort out car hire as well.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

We are staying at Port Orleans in May and wondered if anyone knows if you can check-in online for the return flight. I know you can pay for Wi-Fi but a lot of hotels in USA don't charge for airline check-in. Don't suppose that applies in Disney? We are flying BA so want to make sure we are seated together. Thanks.0

We are looking to go to Florida as part of our holiday and would like to visit some of the theme parks. Can someone break down to me simply what is there - am confused by Disney, Universal Studios, Busch Gardens etc. What is part of what?
Also I have been looking at tickets and can see the smallest is a 5 day pass (I think for Disney) which will be too much. Does anyone have any idea about alternatives and likely prices?
As you can see completely new to this! Thanks for any help.0 -

Hi Disney theme parks consist of Magic Kingdom (modelled on Disneyland California), EPCOT (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow), Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM Studios) and Animal Kingdom. There are in addition two water parks Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.
Universal parks are Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
Busch Gardens is part of the Anheuser Busch group and other parks belonging to them are Seaworld, Discovery Cove and Aquatica (water park).
It would really depend on the age groups of the people in your party as to which parks you visit. I'd suggest getting a copy of The Unofficial Guide to WDW (this does cover the other theme parks in the Orlando area and does a great comparison of the two - ie tells you the differences between Universal Studios and Hollywood Studios). I'd also recommend that you visit the Dibb website as the folks on there are frequent visitors and are really knowledgable on the area. HTHBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. anew i too am on the look out for best ticket deal i want to do all parks if you get a good deal can you post it on here please
Try onlineFlorida.co.uk
I am gonna order:
21 day Disney ultimate x 4
14 day Universal 2 park x 4
14 day Sea World, Aquatica and Busch Gardens x 4
Cheapest I had seen them was £1776 for all of them (OUCH!). O here they come to £1616 which isn't much more than we paid 2 years ago - without Busch Gardens.0 -
I see the 14 days for the price of 7 is ending in April for the Disney tickets any idea if they will do another special? Or should i buy now?0

Ah that's great that someone has first hand experience. My husband has to have medication to fly so is unable to drive at the other end, which means it's down to me and I'm crapping myself to say the least. Thats why I thought COTD would be ideal.
As we wont need to carry our luggage in the car, we were thinking the smallest would do, but we are a family of 5 me and DH 2kids aged 11 and 6 and a 1 year old baby. all we need to put in the boot would be a couple of bags and a puschair, so do you think we could get away with the toyota corolla? We aren't planning on any long drives anywhere just back n forth to the parks etc.0
