If you mean Breakfastosaurus in Dinoland USA, sadly that is long gone. It's now at Tusker House in Africa :) I haven't been so can't comment on the clothes etc but I'd imagine the jungle gear would make an appearance :D

LOL, I looked last night after I posted and yes, it's gone. Tusker doesn't do breakfast though from what I saw.

We have been to the Grand Floridan for breakfast and that was lovely too, I have to admit. We've done O'Hana's but I didn't like the way they bought the food onto a platter (they did this at Garden Grill too). There were characters from Alice in Wonderland and Winnie the Pooh when we went and Alice was lovely. My son was freaked out by the characters so she snuck up and did a 'shhhh' and I was able to get a photo of him with Alice, LOL.

There is one at Beach Club too, might try that next time and I fancy afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. We have not done that before but we have done a lot of the character meals now.

We did a meal at the Crystal Palace and I did not think much of the food, there was not a huge amount that I liked.

Out of all that we have been too, the Grand Floridan breakfast was best (as the AK one is no longer there!!). The characters came to our table loads of times.

And I will always remember - and we still always talk about - see a lady who had clear raincover over her handbag - it was actually a raincover made for the bag. That bag must have been worth A LOT of money not to even get it wet in the rain!! :rotfl: Oh, how the other half live.

There is nothing better than Mickey waffles and Ice Cream for breakfast! Grand Floridian does these. :D

    Tusker definitely does breakfast.

I highly recommend the Cape May Cafe at the BC. Character interaction was fantastic (how can anyone not love them in their old fashioned swimming gear - so sweet!). The food was fine - not my favourite but I don't really do character meals for the food IYKWIM. Mind you there are Krispy Kremes, so that makes up for many ills :D

Because the tablecloths are paper, the kids can draw on them which mine LOVE. They especially loved it when Goofy sat down to draw with them and play noughts and crosses!

Oh fab! We've stayed there twice and love it. It's far from cheap though when you are there

Definitely recoommend trips offsite for cheaper eats

I agree with all of the above, we loved our stay here but it isn't a cheap place.

Yes Tusker House has breakfast we are booked in for Aug, gets really good reviews.
  • As a seasoned Florida goer - and equally devout moneysaver - we gave Florida a miss last year, due to finances. But was determined to go this year.

Have been watching flights everyday since Christmas and had resigned myself to non-direct flights as they were coming out cheaper by a loooonnnnnng way. Virgin has always been my preference - did Monarch once NEVER AGAIN!! LOL

Anyway we are going on 19th June for 3 (yes 3) weeks.

This is how I've done it, in time honoured moneysaving fashion:

Used 8000 of my Virgin flying club points and timed it right so that I bagged 4 flights for £450 each o(on a super new A330 I might add). I hadn't seen them under £624 perviously - so i figured this was a bargain. (2009 we paid £320....but I'm not even going to think about it, we are where we are - thanks Dave and Nick!)

I have searched around accommodation screen scrapers and search engines and have got newly renovated Clarion Inn LBV with breakfast for £559

I have enough banked in my Topcashback account to pay for car hire and mandatory insurance outright.

So actually getting there has cost me £2359......

Had I booked this through Virgin Hols as a package, including same flight, same hotel (BUT ROOM ONLY) car insurance I would have paid £5250.

Not a bad saving I think you will agree!!

Just need to crack the best price for theme park tickets now. I'm on a mission..........

Happy to share any Orlando money saving tips.

I'm not a perfect money manager, in so many ways, but I hate paying over the odds for stuff.

Similarly if anyone has any idead on how to get the best park deals, please share

I am after 21 day ultimate passes, sea world, aquatica and busch gardens combo (currently 3 parks for the price of 2) and Uninversal orlando. The last two are only 14 days duration but I usually stagger them, start with one and finish with another.

Somewhere on here it was mentioned that Sea world are doing buy one day come back all year fro free. I'd be interested in knowing more about that and if it covers Aquatica too. Have alos considered buying one annual pass, to save on $15 parking per day. We have relatives in Orlando so am also considering that method also - ie buy one Florida resident pass for each of the parks.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks

We are going May to span School holidays and have paid £3500 for Virgin Fly drive, car hire (convertible for a week with platinum insurance - if I keep on saying it, it'll feel more real!! LOL) V-room and 2 ad, 2 kids 14 day ultimate Disney tickets. Considering the cost offlights these days we think we got an gret price.
