hi not sure if this is of any interest to anyone else but we have just got our seaworld, busch gardens and aquatica tickets from attraction tickets direct. I mentioned that in the papers on sunday that there were tickets advertised by floridatix at a cheaper price and they price matched.

The tickets ended up costing us £62 each and it includes transport to busch should you need it!!! a 2 day universal ticket from there is only £73 as well.

You receive actual tickets as well, so no need to visit the booth on your way in to exchange you receipt for your tickets.

Hope this helps someone whos looking to source there own tickets. To be honest i havent checked other sites but compared to the travel agents prices they seemlike a bargain.

If you look on https://www.thedibb.co.uk then there are lots of villas there. you can put in your requirements and speak to the people who own the houses. I haven't stayed in any but they look amazing.

    Hi all,

Interesting posts with some useful information so many thanks for this.

    I am looking to take the family (wife and two kids ages 8 and 4) sometime next year to Orlando for a week (will probably just do the Disney Parks) and then perhaps Ft. Lauderdale for a week at the beach, etc. I haven't been for about 12 years so somewhat in the dark about a few things (particularly taking kids) so have some queries which I would be grateful for info on;

Best time to go? - By this I mean in terms of smaller queues, cost and weather, and given the age of kids (happy to take kids out of school as we've never done it before).

Best airport to fly from/to? We would be flying from any of the London Airports and I have heard that Orlando Int is much better than Sanford. Personally would't be too bothered as long as we get there ok!

Best airline to fly with? - I say this as given the flight times keeping the kids happy/entertained/comfortable is essential. However, cost will probably be the determining factor!

Best type of Disney Ticket to get? - Presumably the 7-day hopper would be suitable for the Disney theme parks and Water Parks for a week?

How much spending money to take? - Understand this is a bit vague given everyone is different and exchange rates, etc. But what would an average days food and drink amount to. The shopping/nights out/excursions, etc I would budget for seperately.

Sorry to ramble but any comments would be much appreciated.

Best airline: Are you happy to fly indirect to save some money? If yes I would suggest one of the US carriers. If you prefer to fly direct then your only options for a scheduled airline from London is BA & VA. I have flown with both and would pick whichever was cheapest, personally ;) Charters I can't comment on as I've never done them.

The charters fly into Sanford, the scheduled airlines into Orlando International.

Best time to go, I would say early Novemberish. The flights will be cheapest and the temperatures moderate. If you like hotter weather then end of September / start of October will be pretty cheap still (not over Oct half term!).

You didn't ask about this but just to mention that I think there are way nicer beaches than Fort Lauderdale, closer to Orlando. How about St Pete Beach, Clearwater or Sarasota on the Gulf coast?

As to spends, it's a bit of a how long's a piece of string question ;) I would say whatever budget you set you will be able to stick to. We've done Orlando on $100 a day for a family of 4 and had a great time. Equally we've done it on WAY more than that and still had a great time.

    HTH

I've used Orlandovillas myself, you can request a villa by number of rooms as well. I have booked a villa off there with no problems.

Put a request for a quote into all three plus I would put a request into the DIBB villa section. You will be inundated with villas.:rotfl::beer:
