    hi everyone,
me and my boyfriend are looking at going to florida next year and ive found flights and accomodation for two weeks for £494 per person, and disney ultimate tickets for 14 days for £232 pp, and universal 14 days 2 park tickets for £72 per person. we would be staying at either the imperial swan, travelodge or comfort inn. just wondering if anyone thinks these are good prices for everything? or if i could find them cheaper? or if anyone has stayed in the above hotels, are they nice/clean? thanks!!! x

Just a couple of questions regarding fly-drive.I am looking at going over to Orlando Airport via Manchester in Nov 2010.The thing is i have read that if you take the top insurance out they don't ask for your credit card is this true for all fly drive.Plus i have points on my license and i don't want to land to find i cant hire because some firms over there will not hire out to someone with points
    thank you

I just bought a new guidebook it says its open- weird.. Sigh I dont really mind, lets face it , Ill probably be far too tired to be out dancing  Does look like its closed anyhow

I am wondering ifd anyone has had any luck with these lufthansa flights from manchester with flight centre- coming up at 349?

Im going to call today, I cant seem to find any "good" price flight only departing the 3rd or 2nd Oct - for one week from man - can anyone recommend anyone that consistently comes in cheap.I can get the 450 packages, but DIY deffo suits us better, its almost 150 cheaper for us to DIY- if I can find the flights that is!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Sadly they still want your credit card. Whoever told you they don't has mislead you. Some firms will take a cash deposit so I have heard!!

  • Looking for some advice please.

Going to book trip to Orlando November 2010 for 5 adults and 1 child who will be almost 3 by the time we travel. Have been quoted £3,600, for two weeks departing Manchester which includes 3 bedroom villa at Tuscan Hills resort in Davenport and the enhanced car insurance.

Ideally would prefer to book seperately to be able to pick a villa having seen pictures, but can't see me being able to do it cheaper in this instance given how cheap the flights would have to be.

Given a number of you seem to be regular travellers to Orlando would you concur that the price I have been quoted is as good as it seems?

    Thanks

We're going back next year and want to buy what a flexi-ticket plus offers. Easiest way to do that is of course to buy a flexi-ticket plus I know but it does seem that sometimes buying seaworld and universal tickets separately does end up cheaper.

While I can get the tickets for Universal now direct from them and they are valid for next year the ticket deal going around for Seaworld which is 3 parks for 2 only appears to be valid for this year.

Flexi-ticket plus prices for next year seem to me to be on the expensive side at the moment. Is anyone aware of a regular time of year that better offers are on e.g. January sales of any type?

I dont know about other hotels, but we had to pay a resort fee of $10 per night and then tax of 6.5% and another 6% tax on top of that. He said one was sales tax and one was state tax.

This sounds like our place at Regal Palms just off the 27.

We have to pay a 10$ per night resort fee (for use of the pool complex and club house) plus tax - it works out at $11.20 per night per villa (not per person). I think its a common place thing to do in USA.

    Hi all,

Interesting posts with some useful information so many thanks for this.

    I am looking to take the family (wife and two kids ages 8 and 4) sometime next year to Orlando for a week (will probably just do the Disney Parks) and then perhaps Ft. Lauderdale for a week at the beach, etc. I haven't been for about 12 years so somewhat in the dark about a few things (particularly taking kids) so have some queries which I would be grateful for info on;

Best time to go? - By this I mean in terms of smaller queues, cost and weather, and given the age of kids (happy to take kids out of school as we've never done it before).

Best airport to fly from/to? We would be flying from any of the London Airports and I have heard that Orlando Int is much better than Sanford. Personally would't be too bothered as long as we get there ok!

Best airline to fly with? - I say this as given the flight times keeping the kids happy/entertained/comfortable is essential. However, cost will probably be the determining factor!

Best type of Disney Ticket to get? - Presumably the 7-day hopper would be suitable for the Disney theme parks and Water Parks for a week?

How much spending money to take? - Understand this is a bit vague given everyone is different and exchange rates, etc. But what would an average days food and drink amount to. The shopping/nights out/excursions, etc I would budget for seperately.

Sorry to ramble but any comments would be much appreciated.
