Hayle is a small community - if they have annoyed any of the locals you can bet they would be willing to let on where they could be found!
  • I have just spent the last 20mins on phone to Disney trying to get my Reservation no. They cant locate that i am staying at the Port Orleans (booked through Virgin) they then put me on hold and leave me hanging on until the phone goes dead. Any ideas of what I can do now besides paying for the Cinderellas Royal Table

When do you fly? Apparently the hotels only get the reservations 10 days before you check in. Have you tried calling the Port Orleans themselves? I called Disney CS and they did could not find my reservation with AKL so I called the Lodge and got it that way.

ETA: I just read your post again and realised, you do not have a Disney reservation number, these numbers are given when you have booked accomodation with Disney. You might get one from the POR themselves.

Did you call reservations to book the meal that way and explain you were on DP, or did you just call disney asking for a reservation no?
  • I rang dinner reservations and gave them the name and dates and explained the situation. I have now emailed Virgin Holidays and asked them to sort it out. I will perhaps take your advice and contact the port orleans myself. I want to coincide the meal with the BBBoutique

Did you manage to sort anything out today flossie?

Virgin also have a page on Facebook, you can ask questions there and they will help you.
  • Just got the following response from virgin

I spoke to Disney wholesale and as per the rep there the reservation hasn't been done yet but what you can do is secure the reservation with a credit card and a few days before you travel you can contact me and I should be able to get the confirmation number for you and you can contact them and they will refund your card.

This does not seem a very good solution to me
  • Hi all.

I've searched the thread and not found the exact answer to what I'm after, so here it goes...

I'm looking to go October 2011 as a surprise 30th present for my better half but I'm unsure if it's best to book flights now (or in a couple of weeks when most appear to come out) or wait until nearer the time? For piece of mind I was tempted to do them asap but if I could save a fair bit then I'll wait. Add into the mix that I've got my heart set on a certain villa and would like that secured but if I wait I won't have the specific dates to book it.

I think I'm answering my own question a lot but if someone says flights come down then I could be tempted to wait. We'd be flying from Manchester, Manchester or anywhere up North if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Depends on how stuck you will be with your dates, really.

If you're willing to fly indirect, midweek, that will being the price down. The cheapest way will be to hand around and hope for a cheap charter deal close to the time ... of which there is no guarantee!

Your options are slightly more limited if you want to go from Manchester - the only direct flights being through Virgin Atlantic (plus charters).

If it was me, and I had my heart set on a villa, I'd book when flights get released next month to guarantee my dates - but if you have more nerve than me, by all means wait.

Sorry - probably not very helpful!

I think the general opinion seems to be book ASAP, there hasn't been many "cheap" flights for a while now and next year seems to be going up and up... we fly VA from Man into MCO.. we have booked for next August and have paid just under £900 each economy  but since I booked they have gone up nearly £100 each (as the cheaper fares go I suppose)

  • Thanks you two. I think I'll book them asap then. The prices on virginholidays look fair enough and include the car. I know I could do it cheaper getting a package holiday but this is the once in a lifetime thing before children and weddings so I'll push the boat out a little bit.
