We are planning our first Florida hol for April (Easter) 2012 when our youngest will be 6 yrs old and most definately over 1.2m tall. I know I cannot book anything yet but starting on some research.
I have read a few pages back but I thought I could ask for a few quickish answers to get my research underway.

I thought a villa was the way to go (9 adults & 5 children) but most of you speak about onsite, what would you suggest bearing in mind we won't be doing the very wild rides (children between 6 & 10 in 2012)?

We can only do 14 nights so is it best to just get disney tickets & what do the tickets cover?

I am saving my clubcard vouchers (already have £500 = £2000 deals and get roughly £70 a qtr) earliest exp Aug 2011 so plenty of time. Has anyone used theirs to book their hol?

Thanks in advance for your help

If you are using your vouchers you will not be able to stay at the place we are talking about unless you book a cheap hotel and then make a seperate reservation.

We are staying at Old Key West which has apartments rather than rooms, and these are on offer and you get Free Dining on selected times of year too. This is why we are staying there, it means you get free transport to and from the parks too. You can get a studio with free dining for around £750 a week, sleeps 4, but we have booked £600 of free meals and we still get lunches and snacks on top of that, for us it has been worth it. You can get bigger apartments though, sleep 8 for £1500.

You need to price up your holiday, it was actually cheaper for us NOT to use the vouchers we had and it would have been a waste of vouchers so we paid for ours, however you could use them to pay for flights and real basic accomdation and then stay elsewhere. Also, bear in mind that you may not be able to use your vouchers to pay for Taxes and sometimes, tickets too. Depends who you get on the phone by all accounts.

Research both options before you commit. However, you'll not get the resorts we have been talking about from Virgin so you'll have to stay in a hotel with just a room if you choose to stay onsite.

I would do one week on and one week elsewhere though.

Have a look on the walt disney world website and choose 'Places to stay' and then 'Deluxe Villa Resorts'. You get a decent dining plan and nice sized accomodation. Old Key West and Saratoga Springs have an offer on to save 42%. It will be on when you go but I do not think Dining Plan will be on over Easter, check the dates for next year, they will more or less the same. Without the Free Dining Plan I would stay elsewhere.

How about a policeman outfit? - you could have a pair of handcuffs hanging from your wrist (unless you fancy being cuffed to your OH! lol)

    Nice idea, thanks!!

We used our clubcard vouchers to book our holiday. Had the maximum of £700 each so had £2800 towards the holiday. Total cost was £4036 so only had to pay £1200 toward it, which was alot cheaper in cash than we would have paid had we booked it not using tesco vouchers.

Have got a townhouse type accommodation in Kissimee (sp?) which is No 7 on Trip Advisor, also with car hire. Originally it was for 3 adults and 1 child, but 1 adult had to cancel, and they let us use the tesco vouchers still - so really the holiday has only cost us around £500 cash for 2 weeks in October this year, so don't think we would have had a better deal than that.

  • Hi - I was just wondering (even though I expect this question has been asked thousands of times before) if you lose your tickets, can you get a replacement? Don't plan to do this mind, but you never know! Many thanks

ps Also thinking of booking through Attraction-Tickets, can you tell me if this company is good to use?

Sorry just bumping up, as really want to book tickets asap as going in 4 weeks time and was wondering about the company first before I book.

    Many thanks:D

Not ignoring you but I don't know the answer. I think it may depend on the type of ticket you buy?

We always buy Annual Passes and I know for definite that if you lose one they will reissue free of charge as they can "find" you by your name.

I have a feeling ..... and I am way out of date ... that the UK type passes may be the type that if you lose them, they are not replaceable. I am very happy to be corrected on this, and I'm only guessing because you've bumped it!

We get ours through Virgin Holidays when you redeem the voucher at WDW for tickets you are given a receipt which if you loose your WDW ticket you can take to the booth and get them re-issued. Not sure about any others though.
