Hi
I've searched for an answer to my particular query but can't find anything although I'm sure this will have been raised before
We are going back to Florida next year. We have some park tickets that were originally 7 day hoppers (with 5 plus days, I think). There is no expiry on the tickets. These tickets have got 1 park ticket and 1 plus day on them. These will do us fine as my boys are teenagers now and are more interested in Universal/IOA. They do want to go to Disney Studios and Typhoon Lagoon though. However, my youngest's ticket is a child ticket and he will be 14 next year! Has anyone got experience of this? What did you do? Can I go to guest services to upgrade to an adult ticket with the same days on and pay the difference?
The other thing is that I have another adult ticket with the same on that we won't be using. This was originally my daughter's ticket but she's not coming along next year. Is there anyway her ticket can be transferred to my youngest or cashed in in some way?
Thanks in anticipation for any help08 wins £3000+ :j09 wins £4408:j2010 (6 months off) £2004:j2011 £10,003 :j 2012 - £6013 :j2013 wins £8500 :j 2014 £5530 so far....0 -

so just getting 1 day added will solve the problems plus enable an extra day to another disney park if wanted

if you have spare adult ticket then use that. dont bother with the child one
so long as they are no expiry type tickets (a lot are 14 days after first use) then take them to guest relations and get more days added on for $6 a day per ticket, they issue new tickets with the same restrictions as originals just extra days you paid for.the fingerprint registered on daughters old ticket will no longer be a problem.0 -
Blue-monkey......... you are right to plan for the Toy Story mania ride - we went in May this year. We were near the front of the rope drop at MGM, and it was crazy!! People literally running (and fast!) to TS mania ride. We just went straight in the queue, and were among the first to ride. When we came off the ride, there was a huge queue for the fastpass machine, and the queue for the ride was already 1hour long!!Regarding Toy Story Manis - We always get a FP first and go straight on the ride - first thing in the day, the line will move very quickly as there aren't any FP slots for when the ride first opens, so you're only competing with everyone else in the standby line.
We joined the line at five minutes past park opening and the posted wait was 40 mins, but we were on within 10.
Mmmm... The right way to do Toy Story Mania...
Our method is different to yours. We go straight on the ride and then get fast passes. If we went peak season we'd probably do it the other way round. We are always at the park early and directly behind the rope. Then we are 4 times out of 5 the first on the ride. The best thing about doing it this way is that most times we get the high score for the day as we exit. Of course our high scores don't stay up long, I get about 185k and DH about 200k.
Because we're first on, we're not queuing for fast passes, if we are, there are only a couple of people in front. Generally get one for about 10.40am, time to get down, ride Rock n Roller, Twilight and possibly even ano1 before going back in line. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Thanks for your reply... The tickets are definitely non expiry as I added the non-expiry option on to all the tickets at the end of our 2006 visit and I used them in 2008 (my youngest was 11 then but he still used his child ticket)
Sorry, I'm being stupid but how does the $6 each ticket for extra days work? Does that mean I can go to guest services, pay $12 and end up able to go to Disney Parks on 3 days (as opposed to the 1 day I have currently) If that is the case, why is it so cheap in comparison to buying tickets from scratch?

Oh! LOL, I'm not saying my way is more right than yours!
But we do go in peak times
I'm always happy to get over 150k, so I'm impressed with your high scores!0 -

Thanks again
no idea why so cheap but that is exactly it.
i went in march and was supposed to have 2nd week in miami but things changed so was in orlando instead,i had only purchased 7 day disney tickets initially.
as i was unaware about the extra day thing i got 2 second hand ultimate tickets from a booth on i-drive that had 2 days left on them, the woman in booth let slip you can pay for extra days so i gave it a try.went to guest relations at MK and asked them to add on some days for me and it was $6.12 to be exact per day per person so cost me $36 for me and the wife to have 3 extra days added.0 -

Ha, ha, nor me yours, just thought I'd throw my tuppenceworth in. The only right way is to get to the park before it opens, then you have a genuine choice whether to do it your way round or mine. As we all know, get there even from 9.30 onwards and you're stuck.I'm always happy to get over 150k, so I'm impressed with your high scores!
I've never managed to come off Toy Story without blisters on my hand from tugging the string hard (such a big kid), I think I take it a bit too seriously :rotfl:.
DH and I have a strange set of Disney rituals that we have to do in order to feel we've had a good holiday. These include:
* Boarding Test Track and riding it as normal, then as it gets to the bit where they take your photo, pulling out our park maps and studying them - looks really funny in the photos, particularly if everyone else's hair is going a bit mad and they are screaming. You can also do this on any thrill ride, just takes a bit of practice. We started doing this while looking for a clean yet amusing alternative to the students who flash on Splash (Flash) Mountain.
* Getting your ride vehicle to go backwards in the final scene of Buzz Lightyear. This is really hard to do, you have to hit the lever at just the right moment and turn your car in the other direction. Looks really funny in the photos, even if they don't let you buy them (killjoys).
* Turning Dumbo, Triceratops or Aladdin into a thrill ride. This is such good fun but should not be tried with small children as they may fly out. Only the up/down lever should be used in those that have two as the other cancels out the force. Instead of smoothly flying up and down, use a small series of jerking motions, you get really thrown around and it amuses the crowd.
I will grow up one day...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Lots of great info on here, thanks people!
We’re off to Orlando again next February for 9 days. Looking for advice for the Universal park tickets (including Wet & Wild). We’ve seen 14 day tickets available for £102 but haven’t seen any for shorter period (e.g. 7 or 4). We’ve read that you can buy tickets for shorter periods while there, has anyone done this and does it work out cost effective?Regards

LOL, trust me, can be done with small kids on board and there is no flying out, they are usually screaming 'mummy, stop it'. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
