A lot of our American friend, double the amount of tax charged and give that as a tip.

That is exactly what we do, adding a few extra bucks if the service has been above and beyond... which in the US we often find it is.

    hi all!!

    - single parent 1 child - anyone know any where can book where DONT have to pay for 2 adults rather than 1 adult and 1 child

Hi, I too am taking my son to Florida as a single parent - Virgin Holidays have three hotels in Orlando where you can get child prices with one adult. The brochure and website tell you which and there is one in the Lake Buena vista area. This doesn't show up though when you try to check prices on line so may be best to phone or check with a travel agent.

    Hi Gemma

Keep a look on www.kayak.co.uk Dont panic, flights also sometimes come down in price (special offers, sales etc) .

Oh god I really hope someone can give us a helping hand with our search for flights.

We have booked a 2 week stay at all star music from 3rd-17th may:j and I am now looking for flights.

I'm getting rather worried that maybe I've left it too late for a decent price.

On average what do you guys think is a reasonable price to pay for a direct flight from manchester to orlando

P.S How do you find one with a reasonable price tag:cry:

Gemma, I had a quick look on netflights.com
US Airways to Orlando from Manchester £415 Adult
Virgin to Orlando from Manchester £464 Adult

US Airways to Orlando from Gatwick £369 Adult
Virgin to Orlando From Gatwick £462 Adult
These are for your dates, Check out all flights as some may not be direct ,(you fly into Atlanta for instance and then catch another plane down to Orlando) and dont discount flying in to Tampa (about 50 mins in a car from Orlando) but may be slightly cheaper.
Hope this helps in some way.:D

I think it something like 330 days in advance - we booked our 22nd August tickets on 10th October and I think they had been on a for a couple of weeks then
  • Can I hire a car with just a paper licence as I have not changed my licence to a new photocard and paper one yet? Will they accept the old one

Gemma - have you tried expedia yet? I dont think it's too late as there's nearly a year left.

hi gemma, we dont usually book the flights until a couple of months before we fly and in the 7 years we have been going to florida we have never had a problem getting a decent fare. we usually travel virgin and this year we booked the flights in july for a september 13th holiday 2009 for 3 weeks @ £408 each. its a gamble but i would hold on till the new year at least and then check the prices daily as thay can change on a daily basis. i personally would not pay more than 450pp with virgin. it will be cheaper with us airways but they have stops, when we were looking they were at £313
  • I have heard that it could be cheaper to fly to Miami and drive through to Orlando does anyone know if this is true and approx how much cheaper trying to plan if we can get to florida next year but as previously mentioned Virgin have not got 2010 prices up yet.
Make £5 a day in May total so far £2

    I would not recommend it

    Its over 4 hours drive!

You are better looking for BA flights to Tampa, only 30 mins further by car but a much quicker time in immigration.
