Technium - read this, I asked the same on the holidays forum a few weeks ago: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2593879

    Who did you book with?

PS. You are flying Sunday if I have counted right. Are you in the V-Room at Gatwick on that day? If so I'll see you there, LOL.

why do they charge you a percentage for credit card payments???

Because they are charged by the cc company and the charge is passed on to you.

Ah, I see. You might want to post on there - is holidaygenie bonded like Virgin Holidays is??

V-room is something offered by Virgin, you can pay but sometimes get it free if you book early. Costs £20 and you get fast tracked through security and get to sit in a clubroom just for Virgin customers and you get complimentary food and drinks, kids can play computer games or play in the games room. Here is a bit about it: http://www.virginholidays.co.uk/extras/airport_lounges/info/lounges_clubhouse/vroom.aspx

It is in that room upstairs at Gatwick - it used to have a sports bar in there I believe - and you can sit and watch the planes going out from the Apron but that is no the V-room.

To be honest it's worth the money just to let them get on with it and not have to stop them running around and annoying other holidaymakers for 3 hours!!

If you can use an American Express card you get $50 discount :jper person - meaning the non swim package can be as low as $99 (October low season) - including the one extra park - use AMXDM10 - (sorry not sure if I can put this here - if not could someone please move me!)

Going to Orlando next year (June/July), first time going and I have been told by one travel agent that as we are staying near International Drive we wont need a car, I have now booked the holiday and after speaking to friends who go to Orlando a lot, they tell me a car is essential, now I am wondering if I should have got the car. Can I have a little bit of input from you kind people who have been/done Orlando should I get the car now?. Thanks

Trust your friends, I heard even on International Drive you need to travel to places so least a car will help you get around alot easier

    Hi Nessie :)

Back in Jan we spent 14 nights in Orlando, 7 days with car 7 days without. We stayed in Quality inn(facing point orlando) ...

    without car
Disney - public transport took around 45 min with 1 bus change outside seaworld.
Universal - There was a "funspot" mini bus that drives up and down I-drive all day/night ,, you call the drivers cell phone and he comes to collect you free of charge(tip expected lol) or some hotels offer a free shuttle.
seaworld/outlets - we used the i-trolley when visiting outlets and seaworld.
Buch Gardens - took the "official" coach .. think it was $10 each and collected people from various points on i-drive.

    with car
Space centre - think this would difficult to visit without own transport.
    Walmart
    outlets
    Celebration
    Boggy creek
    croc world

Think it depends on the attractions you want to see and how many people are in your party...

One thing i did notice .. we found it alot easier getting to Disney from I-drive on Public transport than we did getting from the All Star Dinsey resort to Disney!! ,,, the return bus to the All Star Resort took ages to come :(

    Enjoy your trip!
