Hi, I'm going to Florida in September and I'm flying into Sandford airport. Does anyone know how much it will cost at toll booths on my journey to International Drive (or how to avoid them)? Any information would be appreciated!!!0

I'm taking my sat nav with me. It's a garmin 300. I've just bought an american/canada sd card for the garmin. It cost me £23 from ebay.
I looked at walmart.com to see how much the sat navs cost there (usa) but since we've already got one it was cheaper just to buy a north america sd card for it. It might by different for a tomtom.
For those who want to know how much spending money to take with you on holiday for your family I recommend thedibb.co.uk. Quite a few people have threads on there asking the same question and you should find one to match (near enough) your family senario.:j I hope my comment helps :T0 -
Hello all we we are a family of 4 with 2 kids aged 11 and 3.
we have booked and paid for everything the villa the park tickets car hire and we have even bought the currancey from crown currancey and got a rate of $1.67, but in dollers we are taking just over $2000 for 2 weeks from the 3rd - 17th sept (only 5 weeks left):j.
I am starting to worry we are not taking enough cash. we dont spend big but we dont want to go on away and then start cooking.
so do yo think we are taking enough cash?
What do most other familys take?
Where should we eat to save money but is good? (We are staying in Kissamee)
is it worth buying a cheep sat nav off ebay? ( A make i have never seen before) but has maps for usa and uk then selling mine
One last question
are the parks busy when we go or is it off one ride onto another?
Sorry about all the questions but any help would be great
Thanks
Peter;)
Back to UK yesterday. Cost of food not too expensive outside of the parks eg try Sizzlers where can eat reasonable food at low cost. Look out for voucher to receive 10% off and then after first meal you get a voucher for next visit that allows each kids up to 10 (tell them your 11 year old is 10 IF asked) to eat free for each full paying adult. Meals then will cost you $30-40 depending on what you eat. "Free" buffet with all meals. Don't know about SatNav - never used one. Have been before but took some maps printed from Google Earth. Have a great trip.0 -

I rented with Thrifty and they tried to sell me a pass for $25 which allows you to simply drive through all the tolls. They advised me to not go on I4. He told me it was $8 dollars each way (I was driving to Celebration) but I decided not to bother as I was only there for 5 days. If you think you will use the toll road a lot, then it's worth it not faffing about with change but I found the I4 perfectly ok to drive on.There are three ways to get something done; do it yourself, hire someone or forbid your kids to do it.0 -

it will cost you approximately $5 to get to international drive, alternatively you could join the I4 and go that way which is free but can get busy at peak times. using the toll road is much faster0 -
Has anyone flown Virgin from Manchester recently? Our flight leaves the UK at 13:40 and I'm just wondering how soon we will get fed once on the plane and will it be a full meal or just snack.
Sorry if this sounds a weird question but as a good MSE I don't want to pay for a meal for the kids in the airport before the flight only to find they won't eat the "free meal" on the plane. Equally I don't want to not feed them and get 3 hours of "I'm starving" comments from them.
Only 19 more sleeps to go:T0 -
Am in a bit of a panic. We booked and paid for our park tickets (WDW, Universal, Discovery Cove) with VH several months ago and got the vouchers through on Friday.
We arrive on 22nd August, however because we are going to DC on 3rd Sep (near the end of our hols) all our vouchers have a "start date" of 3rd September.
I phoned Virgin on Friday and the lady I spoke to assured me that it wouldn't be a problem. And if there was an issue then I could e-mail then or contact a Virgin rep in Orlando.
Has anyone had the same experience and did it work out ok? I am probably panicking about nothing but I don't want us all to turn up at MK on the first day only to be told our vouchers aren't valid.0 -
I'm going on the 22nd too, and have booked my attraction tickets with Virgin. I haven't heard anything yet, but I'm sure when I book it said they'd be sent out 14 days beforehand.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0

Fiver29. I phoned them a couple of weeks ago as I was worried that they were going to count the 14days from 3rd September. Despite having asked me when I booked them which day we flew, my suspicions were correct. They had dispatch day as 14 days before 3rd Sep which meant we may not have got our tickets before we flew:eek:. The man I spoke to was really helpful and the next day our vouchers arrived.
So if you have booked attraction tix only including DC check the date on your confirmation jic;)0 -
