Looking for a four (4) bed property near International Drive for next June 2010.
Love to know if anyone can suggest some good sites for me to check on.

Are you set on I Drive? I would reconmend other areas really like LBV. What are you wanting to see whilst here?

I think that Disney base the age at the start of your trip so if your 1st visit to DW the child is 2 then they would be free for the duration of your tickets IYSWIM... alternatively if you take her passport to DW on her birthday they are doing free entry this year... or if they already have a ticket you can pick from a selection of other gifts like a FP for your group or a birthday gift card up to the value of park entry.

sorry just seen 2010 so think the birthday offer is only running this year

Disney years also seem to run for 18 months LOL so you may be OK

Hi. Is it worth buying the Florida maps and taking my satnav with me?

Would I be able to plug it into the cigar lighter in my hire car (ie are they standard cigar lighters like the UK)?

A great florida map is the Map Man man, https://www.orlandomaps.co.uk

just what you need and a great price. has hotels, places to eat and even airport runs

Yes - ebay!!! I've seen some good deals there from sellers with 100% feedback and a high number of freeback (I'm talking 300+).

please do not buy from eBay. Please please please please. Its not worth it and I have heard too many bad stories about it.

Is that the one with the busy days guide for the theme parks inside?
    Thx

There is a busy day guide but I think the more accurate one is in the Unoffical Guide to WDW which is also on https://www.touringplans.com and the new edition for 2010 is out in late August.

    Its constantly updated

We are looking at staying in a villa next year in orlando. Seems to be a huge choice. First thing seems to be to work out what area to look in. What areas would people suggest and also which areas should we avoid?

    thanks

this site shows you where all the villas are

be careful as every villa owner says they are 15 mins from Disney which is poppycock.

Disney is 43 square miles so bear that in mind when you are on Property you still have a way to go to the actual car park!

Sure there are people that can fill you in more, but I have friends who stayed in Kissimmee thinking they were quite close in and ended up being miles away. After a long day at the parks, the last thing you want is a 40 minute drive. If the villa seems cheap, then check its location on Google maps.

indeed!! Be careful what they say!

I've been reading little bits about I4 being a toll road, is that correct? We have to travel along the I4 from Davenport to Universal, which according to Google maps is 19miles on the I4. How much is this journey likely to cost in tolls?

ETA: is there an unofficial guide to Universal as there is mentioned above for Disney?
Moving onto a better place...Ciao
