Flight prices and hotels can vary hugely depending on time of year. Disney do a great offer of free dining if you travel over the late summer/early autumn period. obviously, school holidays are more expensive, and outside school holidays, the parks are normally quieter = less queuing.

Regarding spending money, I have budgetted following for 2 adults and (DS 2 and DD 4)

Tickets - enough to cover for 3 week holday as eah of the below are valid for 14 days
    Disney - £210 x2 and £183 x1 = £603
    UNiversal and IOA - £65x2 £59x1 = 189
    Seaworld, Busch gardens and Aquatica - £69 x2 £59x1 = £197
    Total tickets - £989

    Food:-
    Lunch - £20 Per day
    Dinner - £30 per day
Hoping this should be enough to cover and also buy snacks from walmart etc

There is lots of other things to do other than the parks (golf, water parks, amusment parks etc), so worth looking and planning what to do each day, so you can plan to make the most of each day, and also know what you are planning on spending. Also shopping is abundent, and can be some great deals. You could spend a small fortune given the chance, and the number of malls around the area.

I would say the key is Planning, and have a great time! :)

    Couldn't agree more!

Luckily, you have plenty of time and a lot of the fun of a first trip is in the planning:).

As well as keeping an eye on here, have a good look around on these sites too for some great info and moneysaving tips:

Jodie, I would say maybe skip universal and islands of Adventure - they are great parks, but there isn't a whole lot for under 5's to do. I would concentrate on the Disney parks, Disney waterparks, and Seaworld. Walking around the parks all day is tiring, so have a couple of rest days (shopping!! or chilling by the pool).

Also, it is expensive to hire buggies out there at the parks - take your own with you (normally airlines dont charge for this) or drop by Walmart when you arrive, and pick up a cheap one there. Take your childrens car seats with you as these are expensive to hire. If you want to buy a poncho (in case of big rain shower) get one from walmart or similar shop - again, these are expensive to buy at the theme parks.

I think your budget sounds just fine. The 13 month old should get in free, so you only need to pay for the 3 of you. you can save money when eating out by sharing portions - we often do this when we go, and it is quite 'normal'. You can also have a starter instead of a main course (the portions are big). collect the 'coupon books' you see at the hotels/restaurants for extra savings.

    Have a good time!

Has anyone used the Busch Gardens shuttle? I'm going to have a car but thought it could be useful to take the pressure off having to drive. Wasn't sure what they were like - if you can choose when to go and come back or if there's set times etc.

Also, i'll be staying at a villa just inside Davenport (where the highway 4 crosses the 27) and wondered if anyone has used taxis to get to say downtown disney, or maybe universal citywalk so I can have a drink? Wasn't sure if anyone had any companies they have used, or know the kind of price to get anywhere etc. Having a villa and driving - i'd like to have a drink now and then!

    Thanks a lot!

Be sure you need the all singin all dancin Ultimate before you buy (about£224). Many people don't need a full 14 days in Disney, do you really need to park hop? Some are not keen on water parks.

Undercover Tourist do a 10 day MYW ticket for $249.95 or $299 with water parks. The second one not such a huge saving, but if you're buying several.....

    Hi,

Does anyone know if there is anywhere that is still doing the 14 day disney ticket for £210?
Just called disney and they have increased their prices yesterday form £210 to £225 and from £189 to £199 for kids.

Yep! used the shuttle twice --First time it went a dream. Both times we picked it up in Old Town. Second time the journey home was a nightmare there was so many stops all up the 192 before it got to Old town. Vowed never to use it again. I think you will find it depends on time of year and how many people wishing to use. ie The more people from one pick up the less stops.
We used cabs a couple of times and found them reasonable and prompt, but Davenport to Universal is a long way.
Resign yourself to drinking around your pool!!:rotfl:
