piglet fairfx card allows you to transfer £'s at a good exchange rate to $ and works in shops like a normal bank card also withdrawls can be made from ATM without massive charges

Tesco offer one of those cards too but it has the Visa sign, you can get one from the EB in any store that has one and they do those instead of Travellers Cheques.

Have been thinking about things to do in our holiday in July and was wondering what everyone else's favourite things to see and do outside the Disney/Universal/Seaworld parks were?

I love going to the shopping outlets, especially the Prime Outlets and Premium Outlets (one at each end of International Drive), better bargains to be had there than at the more expensive malls. I'll be going in July too.

We were at both those last year.......several times;) Got myself some lovely Lalique jewellery which is ironic considering I am a jeweller:D

Really depends on whether you want to travel much, what your interests are and what your buget is.

Things not too far away are quite touristy still, but some are very nice at a price!

    Hot air balloon ride
    http://www.orangeblossomballoons.com/ - done it twice-LOVELY

Gatorland- depends on your feelings about animal shows.

Fantasy of Flight if you like planes-Bit boring for kids though unless there's an air show on. Good behind the scenes tour geared to adults. Daily flight of one of the planes.

Airboat ride- nice experience, we only saw one small gator, but lots of other things-luck on the day.

Discovery Cove Dolphin swim. Pricey, daughter loved it, i've not done it.

Sunday- House of Blues Gospel Brunch -Something a bit different:)

Cirque du soleille or Blue Man Group shows.

    If you want a trip out not too far you could try ;

    Kennedy Space Centre of course

Mount Dora- cute little town -Try the Goblin Market restaurant.

Lakeridge Winery is worth a visit- often has Fairs and live music at the weekend.

If you want to drive further you can be at the coast in a couple of hours.
Some people love Clearwater or St Petes, my favourite is Anna Maria island.

Hope that's given you some ideas.

Dinner shows are good. We went to the Outta Control Dinner Show last year.

    Great show and reasonably priced.

we went for a drive out to tarpon springs really lovely area and a quaint fishing town where they fish for natural sponges.. predominantly greek town small shops food places etc my 13 year old son made me buy him a chocolate kok (cake) just cos he wanted to make me ask for it!! we watched pelicans skim 1ft above the sea, its sort of like where you would expect popeye to live. the surrounding area of Tarpon has some really lovely typically american houses around it. the type with rockers on the front decking etc (like you see on films) lovely for a drive out if you are heading in the st petes sort of area

    have a good time
