Finally received closing interest 18/5. Only problem is that all trace of the account closed has been deleted so I cannot check that the net amount received is correct. They have not defined the gross and tax deducted.

Have now received a Certificate of Tax Deduction in the post for the account I closed, so have got the gross, net and tax deducted amounts. However, like you, all trace of the closed account has disappeared so I can't check that I actually received the net amounts this tax year. I'd suggest that anyone closing a (monthly interest) account takes screenshots of any interest credited this financial year before the evidence disappears.
  • Have now received a Certificate of Tax Deduction...
For this tax year or last? Did you request it or did they just send it? All my partner received by post was a one line letter saying the account was closed, no final statement or anything.

I closed my account 2 days later, but received my interest 15 days after her.

I received 2 Tax Certificates yesterday in the same envelope - for this year and for last year for the account that I'd closed on May 2nd. I didn't request them, they just arrived. This was the day after I'd received the one line letter saying that the account was now closed.

Super! I requested closure on 26/4. They obviously make it up as they go along.

Whatever happened to competence and consistency? Another one to file under 'despair'.

I closed mine on 25th April, still nothing from them and when I log-in the account balance shows as zero.
The first email said 10 working days and after I complained about the delay I got another saying there is a backlog because of all the accounts being closed.

I have called them today and the 10 days it takes to close is incase you have transferred funds electronically via BACs out to another UK account this can bounce back within 10 days. I also asked for my interest that I have earnt so far to be transferred into account balance first then I would transfer the whole balance out.

Job done money is leaving today!!!

I closed mine on the 25th of LAST month, have complained twice but still no interest cheque.
I have already composed my letter of complaint for when I finally get my cheque and will be seeking compensation.

Account closed since 27th April and still no cheque.

Another couple of months and the interest would have been added to my account automatically and I could have just transferred the whole lot. Wish I'd just waited now. This whole thing is a farce.
