On the PC World website they have a Netgear DG834GUK wireless modem router reduced from £89.99 to £44.99.
Don't know if this is available in store as well, but even on Ebuyer this is currently £68.54, so looks a bargain.

1) PC World website isn't down for 5:00pm, it's the Currys & Dixons sites that are down
2) So what is this then - http://!!!!!!.com/5c5bx
3) It looks to be an older product as Netgear don't mention it on their website0 -
It is on the Netgear website - look under Broadband Routers. It's a 54MB/s router, but they don't put the UK on the end of the name so they call it a DG834G. The latest model is a 108MB/s router, but you have to question how much extra benefit there is in this.
Presumably PCW are clearing these out because all their wireless cards are now 108MB/s and they want to keep only routers of the same capacity.
Still a bargain though.

I'd seen the latest version of it on both the UK & US versions of the netgear website.
I checked a review of it on amazon and most people seem to think it's OK, though apparently the firmware & backup leaves a lot to be desired.
What about the other half of the equation - the bits inside the PC, Netgear PCI / laptop cards seem expensive, but there are Belkin ones for £22.31 (laptop) & £21.11 (PCI).
How compatible will they be?0 -
I have been told by a friend of mine that if I were to buy a Wireless Modem/Router then it should be GNAT compatible?
Any ideas?

Been using one of these for about 9 months with 2 laptops and 1 PC connected (all wireless). Never really had a problem with it, although a firmware upgrade was never attempted. I believe the next generation of wireless routers are about 5 times faster than this one (I stand to be corrected), but don't let that put you off this 'cause it's plenty fast enough.0

PCW Component Centre are selling a Canyon 54G wireless laptop adapter for £14.53+delivery. I got one a few weeks ago and it works fine in my laptop with my Belkin router.
Canyon PCI wireless adapter is £16 from same place.
Or Argos are selling USB and laptop 54G wireless adaptors for £24.99 each. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0
