Good luck ETO, Sarah, and juju! :D

Saw my gp today who wasn't optimistic about the success rates of tubal surgery :( he seemed to think I'd likely be sent straight for "assisted conception" even if they could unblock them, especially if it is endo, to reduce the risk of it growing back before conception. I did expect him to think that way, as I was too, but I feel like I'm suddenly staring IVF in the face _pale_ Guess I need to stop wallowing and crack on with losing some more weight, huh?:o Also seriously considering adoption options...

BZ - sending hugs, always scary to hear mention of assisted conception. I saw fs for 1st appointment having only had blood tests and SA showing no problem and was told straight away that I needed hsg but that whatever the result she would recommend ivf as next step because of my age. Hearing that was a real shock to the system as despite all the months of ttc I still believed it would happen naturally. It is still a struggle to get my head around it all and I have started ivf treatment so it is natural to be shocked by the news

Had my nuchal scan and it seemed good! (don't get results until next week, but we saw the measurement was 1.4mm, which is normal). So relieved. Also told 70% chance it's a boy! Argh, outnumbered! I will prob get a phone call telling me I'm high risk because I'm such an ancient old bird, but all my instincts are telling me things are fine, and one thing I've learnt to do over my very long journey to have a second child is to trust my gut.

Baby was bouncing like crazy - sonography was chuckling away. Arms and legs going like the clappers.

that's fantastic news Sarah, although bad luck on being outnumbered! you'll just have to invent lots of house rules 'only girls can eat chocolate' 'boys have to take the rubbish out' hehe x x

  • That's good news Sarah.

Sorry to hear that news BZ. I have to say I know nobody wants to hear they have to assisted conception/ IVF however apart from having 2 cycles and no success i haven't struggled with any of the meds, or side effects, or the concept of IVF.

To be honest I haven't struggled too much with the IVF, or the thought of it. Only every so often I sit and think about the fact that we just can't have a natural pregnancy like other normal people and that we have to have help but then I think if it's the only way I can have a baby or a chance of a baby then ill do it.

Have been in for egg collection. They got 11 eggs. Just waiting for the call tomorrow morning to decide whether it'll be 2 embryos at 3 days or 1 blasto at 5 days. Keeping everything crossed.

    Great new Sarah

    Big hugs BZ

Good news ETO, fingers crossed for lots of fertilised ones.

Start of my day was at 4am this morning when I went to the toilet and my wee was bright bright pink and there was some blood in my knickers, obviosuly major panic thinking I am losing the baby couldn't get back to sleep as I was just worrying. Went for the scan which showed a baby and a heartbeat at 7 weeks and 3 days. However they said the baby is quite low in the uterus which they are bit concerned about as its usual further back (away from the cervix). So happy about the heratbeat etc but now worried about it being low and the bleeding. They said some people bleed and some don't but it could be anything. I was told just rest lots take it easy and wait for 12 week scan in 5 weeks, unless I bleed again i need to contact them and they will get me in for another scan.

OH then went to hospital for an eye operation where he has to stay in over night. He is fine but in a lot of pain and groggy.

Its been hell of a day and finally got home to rest. I am scared everytime I go to the toilet now and I don't know how I will last 5 weeks till next scan.

juju, i know how you must be feeling, but if they have seen a good strong heartbeat think positive, rest plenty and we will all have our fingers crossed for you, have you got some company tonight, as it would be better than worrying alone?

sarah glad things went well xx

    bz (((hugs)))

    ETO good luck xxxx
  • Oh no juju. I'm sorry to hear what you are going through, although it's still all positive. You have a heartbeat which is good. The best you can do is stay positive, like they say it could be anything and doesn't mean something bad us going to happen.

I was just popping on to say I hope I didnt come across as insensitive in my earlier post re IVF. I think I was still a bit doolally from the sedation. I was just trying to say its good for me although it's a bit weird when I over think it, to me it has kept me positive and focused but it is a very individual decision. I have been lucky that I haven't suffered unduly.

Hugs to everyone who needs them. xxxxxx
