The Trials and Tribulations of Trying to Conceive when its just not happening (12m+)

Afternoon all. Feeling fairly glum. No pg symptoms, 8dpo. DEsperately trying to convince myself that my boobs are aching, but they're just not. Can feel quite a downer coming on if we're not pg this month - this will have been the longest it's ever taken. I know at 41 I am no spring chicken, but honestly, actually conceiving is supposed to be the least of my problems! If we ever do make a sibling for my DH he'll probably have left home,....0

Hurrah for (almost) everyone de lurking

Congratulations Silly sausage! :j
I was gonna do a big reply in response to the posts, but I'm on my phone, so that makes it hard
Doc was ok: I had my blood test for anaemia today so we'll see what that says, and he looked at my wrist and said he was happy it was back in the right place (which I knew, but I guess it's nice to have confirmation) and to take painkillers...except the only thing I can/am supposed take is paracetamol, and that's not touching it  oh well
Better news is that the bleeding seems to be finally slowing down :j I'm trying not to get my hopes up, cos I know it could get better, or worse, or just drag on and on, but at least I'm not paranoid of leaking every time I move a muscle!
I might ring about booking in for an hsg tomorrow, for next week, and cancel if I'm still bleeding. I think it's the only way to get it done before my FS appointment, cos if I wait for another cd1, and then to stop bleeding again, I might be waiting til christmas!
P.s. Ttc40: the way I read the title of this thread is that it's here for the trickier ttc journeys, rather than just a cut off of 12m+ or not... I personally wouldn't question your "right" to be here, same as I wouldn't with others who've been having a particularly difficult ttc journey.
I think the 12m+ is mainly because that's when all the investigations and talk of treatments start to pop up, but you've already had some of that, etc. "I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Ladies, can I ask a question - and this is more for the PCOS sufferers.
Every time after I insem, or perhaps it could just be the same time each month, I have extreme bloating, the whole of my stomach - from under my boobs, to right down below.
Now, just before this, I thought I got some mittleschmerz (sp?!) but it could be cysts forming and thats what I am feeling. So basically they are two distinct paints - but the bloating is ALWAYS there and sometimes can be very unbearable.
Do any other PCO(S) suffers have this? I googled and again people seem to be attributing it to cysts

I don't really have anything useful to say (as ever lol), but I get terrible bloating about ov time. I can go from pretty flat stomach to looking easily 6 months pg in a couple of hours. I've always assumed it's something to do with either endo or PCOS but no idea what. That's usually the time I get the worst pain too.0
