All my promising symptoms have vanished...! On CD18, so a long way to go this month.

This is going to be a very long 2ww.

I have lost all optimism though - I am used to the feeling of 'nothing' and that's what's happening now!

Good luck everyone else trying to stay distracted..!

    Keep your chin up chickpea.

I have had a few dizzy spells in this 2ww I just went to the chemist where my my works and nearly passed out. She took my blood pressure which was a bit low but ok. It could be thr drugs and maybe not drinking enough. I have had some AF pains too. I came home and had a little cry as I so want this to work (as we all do).

Good luck to everyone else in their 2ww and everyone else in the struggle for a baby.

    Happy Valentines too! x

  • Chickpea, just popped on to say feeling nothing means exactly that- Nothing! If you remember I was on here ranting 4 weeks ago about secondary infertility, and re-starting IVF for another go...I was already pregnant and didn't have a clue! You'd have thought I'd have noticed something but with not having periods often, and six years etc for the first one, it didn't even cross my mind.

Now to completely contradict myself Juju, when I had IVF the second time, I thought it was all over as I had AF type pains...Nope I was wrong again!

Thats the worst of it, bloomin symptom spotting though!

Hugs to everyone that needs them xxx
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja- vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before

Did you tell your family/friends once you'd started down the road of fertility treatment?

We were back at the FS today and have been referred(sp?) to CARE sheffield for IVF or maybe IUI first. Beacuse of this, we decided to tell family...possibly a bit of a mistake? Told OH's family - SIL (who I feel I don't get on that well with) actually was the most supportive, maybe as she has kids. MIL was also good about it - can't wait for more grandkids! Told FIL, his response 'well, there's nothing to be said about that' in a disinterested, what a bad idea, kinda way - thanks for the support. Told other SIL (same family), who doesn't have kids, who went on to give loads of advice - have you thought about loosing weight (thanks, I'm a size 12!!), what about healthy eating (we eat very well, thank you very much) , are you sure you want to go down this road (we've only had about 2yrs to think about it) why don't you try a bit longer etc, etc, etc! aaargh, families - thought they were supposed to be supportive!!!
    rant over!!
    Happy Valentines day xxx

AF due on Friday for me - I had signs of her arrival yesterday (cd24) but nothing today. Could be good news, could be bad - I've been caught out by that trick before!

((hugs)) chickpea. You know as well as anyone that symptoms, or the lack of them, mean absolutely nothing! All we can do is wait. And bl00dy frustrating it is too!!

countrybum I sympathise.. I've told my mum, who in turn has told my dad (fine), my aunt (not so fine), my sister & niece (absolutely NOT fine). We haven't told DH's family at all. The only reason I told my mum was that she'd flip if she found out at a later date, but I would have rather not told her at all. She fusses A LOT.. FWIW, hang on to the supportive family, and ignore the rest, or limit what you tell them. It sounds like the first SIL will be an ally :) and I love the unasked-for advice by the 2nd SIL! (Does she have no children by choice, or is she having fertility probs herself?) That might put a different perspective on the advice, but if it's the former...
When people show you who they are, believe them the first time
  • thanks onestep, nice to get another point of view. BTW, 2nd SIL is 38 (nearly 39) and single!!!
