Chickpea :D so much in common!! Lol!! Feeling a bit more accepting about it today. I guess at least there's an explanation for why we're not getting pregnant & hopefully the consultant will be able to suggest how to move forward. I know all is not lost, but I'm soo aware of the clock ticking. I must confess that I can barely see the point of BD'ing atm, which I know doesn't help. Need my PMA back!! I'm off to the gym in a bit while DD has a ballet rehearsal so hopefully that will help.

    Thanks everyone

In my case, the AMH is low because of damaged ovaries, I dont have the follicles and therefore however much they are stimulated, I wont produce cos they aint there - thats why I was not surprised at my AMH level. However, and the reason why I say not to worry to much, is that it is only one piece of information in the whole jigsaw of fertility. Yes, it isnt good, and shows that you dont have the fertility of a 20 year old, but then, at 42 I didnt expect that. Most fertility centres dont even check AMH, because they can see visually on a scan how many follicles are developing each cycle, and therefore what to expect from stimulation - they use FSH to see how hard your ovaries are working, because that gives them some indication as to how many eggs are left and how close to menopause you are. I believe that it is automatically assumed that at 42, my eggs are 'elderly' and that is why I will find it harder to conceive. My last embryo (only one - I didnt have stimulation) was grade A and perfect chromosomally - and yet I have a low AMH and it was formed on an ordinary cycle. (obviously bear in mind that I had cancer and therefore it didnt implant, luckily!)

Anyway - dont give up hope girls, hopefully we will get there despite it all!

  • Hi everyone,

I have posted here a few times, but not lots. I am 30 and had been TTC for 3 years when we were referred to a fertility consultant.

We first saw the consultant mid 2010 when we did all the usual tests, tubes, sperm etc. No physical problem other than I don't ovulate.

Was prescribed Chlomid in Jan 2011 - four courses at 50mg, but it didn't work, went back and saw the consultant again in May and got 4 courses at 100mg.

Only side affects were horrible headaches.

The last visit to the consultant I was told that a my next appointment I would need to have lost 10% of my body weight or they wouldn't treat me anymore.

I have now lost 1st 9lb, and after 3 courses on the 100mg have finally had a BFP!!!!!!!!

I went tothe doctors today and had it confirmed, I am 5 weks, and on the 15th Sep have an 8 week booking in appointment with the midwife. I am over the moon - couldn't be happier, and just can't believe it.

I am so pleased that it has finally worked, it is a huge weight off but at the same time it is so scary, I just want to be at 12 weeks and feel a little more relaxed!!

I just wanted to give you all a little hope

Just wanted to let you knoe I had my HSG yesterday - holy s**t, never felt pain like it whilst they injected they dye!! I 'think' it was ok but was in so much pain, couldn't concentrate on the screen!! Oh well, at least its done now and have been able to bring my next appointment forward to end of september (rather than end on november). I'll have the 'dildocam' followed by appointment with consultant to go through my results...fingers crossed.

I'm really sorry, but still don't understand most of the other things you talk about!!! I'm sure I'll soon learn it all

    xx
