Happy birthday C4B
I've got my appointment next Monday for HSG - just wondering what anyones experiences of this are? Not sure what to tell my boss as I don't know if I'll feel like going back to work?
Frustrated 'cos my next appointment with the consultant isn't until the end of November...might ring once I've had my HSG and see if I can move it forward.
I wish I could understand all your posts - its like another language!!! I'm sure I'll pick it up!

Hi Countrybum
I had my HSG 2 weeks ago. I was absolutely dreading it, but it didn't hurt AT ALL. They put a speculum in, and then insert a thin (1-2mm) tube. The tube has a tiny inflatable cuff on it to hold it in place just above your cervix, so that the dye doesn't leak out straightaway. They inject the dye (I could feel it, but it just felt like a little wetness - hard to explain!) and then they take the x rays. The radiologist explained the results and showed me the pics straightafterwards. It's recommended to take a couple of painkillers before hand, but I had no pain at all, and no cramping afterwards. Don't forget to take a sanitary towel, as you will leak a bit afterwards and may have some spotting - I did. If you can get away with having the afternoon off then why not?!
Apparently if you have a blockage in the tubes it can be uncomfortable. Don't read about HSGs on any forums on the 'tinternet (apart from this one!) coz I scared myself silly doing that.
Hope that helps, and good luck. You'll pick up all the abbreviations in no time! When people show you who they are, believe them the first time0 -
onestep - thank you so much for taking the time to reply - I feel much better know. I know what you mean about reading about it in the internet - google is not always your friend!!!0

Mine was easy too. Took pain killers, but had no cramps.
Like OneStep said, don't forget to take a towel with you, and don't read Google:o
Also, during or after the procedure, ask if it looks OK or not, the results may take some time to come. In my case I asked on the spot, as my doctor's appt was a week later.0 -
Happy birthday for yesterday C4B - hope you had a lovely squiffy time!
CD14 here and first peak on cbfm...very exciting! Does anyone else here use a cbfm? Is the first peak day the day you ov or the second peak day?0 -
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. Had a lovely night with all my family and luckily no hangover :T
When I had my HSG I forgot to take a sanitary towel but had no leakage luckily. Mine was quite painful but thats because I have twisty tubes:eek: The pain only lasted a couple of seconds though so wasnt too bad and only slight cramping for about an hour afterwards
Isnt the HSG the one that could clear your tubes and increase your chances of a bfp?:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -
