    Hi Becc4 welcome to the thread. When you say all the tests, have you had the scans, check tubes etc? If so, and clomid hasnt worked, I think the next step is probably IUI, which is where they use OHs sample, clean it up, and put it back in at just the right time of ovulation (hecked by scans) prob whilst still taking clomid. Alternatively they may go straight to IVF, depending on your circumstances/age etc. Do bear in mind though, that as your OH has existing children, it is unlikely that you will qualify for any funding, so you will be self-funding. Try and keep calm about it all. We do know what you are going through and it isnt nice, and it isnt fair, but sadly we are having to live with it, and all the delays and heartbreak that go with it - and cancelled appointments are right up on the list of stressy's! You may want to try to up your relaxation techniques, exercise, etc or if you can afford it, acupuncture and reflexology seem to help. Feel free to post whenever you like, as many questions as you need - nothing is too daft for us! and sound off as often as you like. Most of us keep our feelings hidden in real life, and it really helps to have the company of like minded people.

    Butterflylady - welcome and thank you for sharing your story! Well done you for cracking the code - I guess you are currently pregnant, so congratulations and I hope all goes well.

    Chickpea, I was going to raise similar - I know from books I have read that if you can afford it, organic and au naturale is the way to go - avoid as many 'environmental' issues as you can - basically as many chemicals as possible - buy water bottled in glass (to avoid plastic leaching) cook everything from scratch from organic ingredients, and review all beauty products and only use 100% natural products on your skin and body - including things like deodorant, soap, lotions, washing powder etc etc. It does seem extreme, but there is a body of evidence that these chemicals mimic your natural hormones and create havoc, being overweight is also a hindrance here as it increases the oestrogen in your body. Also it affects your mineral levels and toxicity levels of various metals - aluminium etc. It is amazing what damage a lot of these products we use everyday do to us. I was thinking of using some of these foot patches that detox you overnight, but I havent bought any yet. I am currently trying a no dairy and low carb diet, both to lose weight and try and bring my oestrogen levels down, as I havent had a period in at least 9 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE, JUST BASED ON WHAT I PERSONALLY BELIEVE TO BE TRUE BASED ON MY OWN RESEARCH.

    Toniq, good luck for the scan tomorrow. Our luck is due to change, and I dearly hope you change it for us. Keep positive, it does help.

    Barginhunter - welcome to the thread - Ask as many questions as you like, I think between us we cover just about every infertility scenario you can think of! It does sound as if your hubby has some kind of mechanical problem, possibly varicose or strangulated of some sort. Keep up the good work getting as healthy as possible, it really does help to get yourselves in as healthy position as you possibly can be.

    Juju, hiyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

    Have a good week everyone - sorry if I have missed anyone, I am getting tired - night night, lilo

    just wondering what the next step will be? or/and any advice? many thanks
    In my case, after Clomid, they added FSH injection to Clomid, then 3 IUIs then IVF. After the first failed IUI, I requested HSG test to check the tubes.
    Good luck:o

    QQ - the AF after IVF can be heavy and quite painful, my last one was.
    I see what you mean:o
    OH went on line to order me new perfume for my birthday and found research from the USA saying that some of the ingrediants had been linked to miscarriages, I stopped using it and the next cycle I got pregnant. Probably just a coincident but worth thinking about.
    I rarely use perfume, but thank you for your info, and congratulations on your pregnancy:)

  • I will have to go and check my perfume - something I would never had thought of.

    QQ - has your OH's SA improved or is it still an issue? Would the flying affect your body too with jetlag/altitude? Just a thought.

    Good luck for the scan Toniq.

    Chickpea - what is a fertility relaxation CD?

    CCM, DH's SA is only an issue if we are doing it naturally, it won't affect ICSI.
    As for flying, hmmm. It may be an issue, but a lot of people who work on the airlines get pg (stewardesses etc). I only fly occasionally.

    As we have nothing to do while we wait for our next IVF, we decided to try traditional Chinese Medicine. Should pass the time at least:p

    Juju, and others who had IVF, did you ov on time after the failed IVF?

    I've always ov'd pretty much on time after a failed IVF, after AF has been and gone things generally went straight back on track each time.
    Hope it does for you.

    Thanks for all the brilliant info - that sounds more or less right. I haven't ever gone so far as changing my deodorant/perfume/make up etc but maybe the time is right to take the plunge?

    There is an organic supermarket a short drive away - I'll get the lot there. I'll do it on the 28 May - the same day as my appointment for....

    Colonic irrigation!

    I can't believe I'm doing it, but yes, I am that desperate. I read that Julia Indichova had done it in her book 'inconceivable' so I thought I'd try. There are a few other things on my list too!

    +++++++

    CCM - There are various fertility hypnotherapy/relaxation CDs available on the likes of Amazon. Even if all they do is relaxation, it can't hurt. I like to burn a 'Yankee Candle 'Baby Powder' candle while I'm listening. I wish I could tell you what's on it, but I invariably doze off or lose concentration. I think some of my one is about overcoming subconscious fears of pregnancy.

    +++++

    I've been clean and serene for a few days now - only water and herbal teas and coconut water, lots of fruit and veg, fish, and healthful things! Not all organic yet - I'll have to phase that in! My husband is a bit resistant.

    I'm waiting for my acupuncturist and reflexologist to call back. Get them back on the payroll. I may give TCM a go, but not whil I'm on the Clomid.

    All this is going to cost (another) fortune! Still, I got overtime for this weekend and a special merit award at work today, so I'm £200 better off - what better use for this windfall than a hosepipe up my bum?

    Seriously, what a !!!!!! job..

    If it is possible to will yourself pregnant through sheer determination, you must win the award! Go you, I hope you get a result - I know that everyone on here will all be following you, colonic irrigation an all, if you get that bfp!!

    Hope the scan went well toniq
