Runner, glad to hear your levels have done the decent thing. I know it is far from the outcome you wanted but with every ending (sorry to put it this way) there is a new beginning. Hope you can close the door on this pain and sadness soon, and look forward to trying again, as much as is possible of course.
Thinking of you, and everyone here.
I did post on the miscarriage thread but tbh I didn't feel I belonged at all, so will hang out back here again if that is ok with everyone?

    Hi and welcome:wave:

You'll fit right in here:o I have PCO too, not quite PCOS as I don't have other symptoms. I have about 9 cycles/year naturally, so I can relate to waiting for ov:o

You probably had PCOS all your life, but you got pg, you can do it again!:j
When will you see a fertility specialist?

I prob have about 3-4 cycles a year and yes i probably have had pcos forever... ive had trouble from the word go! Thanks for your positivity :)
I have to go and see my gp to help with the forms then i need to send forms off and wait for my appointment but the actual referral has happened so just a waiting game!
  • hi guys,

im 28, what some may call a newly wed and have been trying to conceive since Oct 2009. I have two sons from a previous relationship who are now 5 and 6 and myself and my husband (not the father of my two boys) are at it like rabbits trying to get pregnant with a baby together. I had my coil removed 6 months before our wedding to start trying and was optomistic we would be pregnant before it as i had caught on quick the first two times (11 months apart in age) Sadly, this has not been the case and now i dont know what the next step is. My husband has coeliacs disease which apparently affects fertility and we are both substantally overweight. At what point do you accept that things are not going to happen naturally and you should seek help from a professional? Its drivng me insane, its becoming a monthly ritual 4 days before im due on i pee on a stick and get swallowed up by disppointment when only one line appears. My body likes to play tricks on me, and on the odd occasion i have been as much as 10 days late! I have done various ovulation tests with very few resuls and monitor my cycle online month in month out. what am i doing wrong?

When i try to talk about this with friends etc, none of who have children, i am met with calls of 'well at least you have the boys' and 'you should be greatful you have any children', and as much as i love and adore my two boys this is entirely beside the point, my husband and i agree a baby together would complete our family:(

sorry that was rather a long moan!

    Hi woozy, welcome.

First things first, don't listen to those who think you shouldn't feel the need for more children because you already have some. Of course you are greatful for your littleuns, but it doesn't negate the fact that you want another.

Don't know anything about the effects of coleacs disease I'm afraid, hopefully someone else will be able to help further. If you've been trying since Oct 2009, now is definitely the time to pop to the doctors. Most places like you to have been trying for a year, some for 18 months before they will refer you. If you are nearer to 40 they tend to act more quickly I think.

The doc will usually not be able to help you very much personally, but will refer you on to a clinic. For us, this took another 6 months or so to get that appointment. Please get straight on it if you and your OH are happy to be seen, as the whole process takes so long you want to get started. If you are overweight, this often does have an effect, and you need to be below a certain BMI to receive various treatments, so make sure you're both getting started on that as soon as you can.

If you're doing lots of tests and things you might want to order some cheapies online to save on the expense, and just keep branded products for 'special occasions' (so to speak). I used www.accessdiagnostics.co.uk because they are cheap, discreet and quick.

Best of luck with your journey!

Someone recently told me that they lost a stone in weight after they had an ovarian cyst removed which is making me even more eager to have my op asap! Bikini body here I come :D...I hope they didnt mean that their cyst weighed a stone, that would be disappointing :( and quite scary !
You'll definitely lose some I'd say, as your hormones will be back to normal:cool: And get pg straight away and gain stones:D

So now I am really worried what on earth they have found and what could they want with yet more of my blood. And if they want to take my blood pressure and they tell me 'it's a bit low' I might swing for someone! 80/53 isn't low ;-)
    (((Hugs))). Hope it's nothing:o

I seeked professional help when I was 6 month ttc as I was older, and had a sister with PCOS, and I also had irregular cycles from the beginning. My mother seeked help after 5 years ttc her 3rd baby. Her tubes were blocked after her 2nd (still born):o

Having married late, I knew it wouldn't be easy, so had no hesitation.

CD1:j Had blood test now, will get a phone call tomorrow to start injections:)

I had 4 clomid and 3 IUI cycles, all BFN obviously:o
DH's SA was never good, but with ICSI, it should be fine.
Same cannot be said about my eggies...

PS. I had HSG (clear) last year and mc at 11 weeks in 08/09 after falling pg naturally.

I was thinking I am surprised they let you have the IUIs if your having ICSI and sperm isn't very good, as it was never suggested to us it was straight in with ICSI and I am relatively young and have no problems. I suppose as you did fall naturally they thought it was a good chance.

Glad CD1 is here and you can start injections tomorrow, its all go from here. :)

  • Morning everyone

Please just report issues you feel we need to be aware of then ignore and, especially, don't reply or quote. By doing that you give us more work and it takes longer to look through. We always aim to deal with reports within 48 hours but generally it's a lot quicker than that.

    Take care

    Andrea :)
